:woot: Good change of pace, even if it's more money, it's just better.

I think it's because new car sales are way down. I was quite surprised with that trade value. It really made it hard to say no.

You got some great deals all the way around! It would've cost you the same had you leased it for a year...that is amazing! You will be very pleased with the Tacoma and the Pyrite Mica is a great color.

Since you are keeping it, you may want to talk to Troy at Toyota of Greenfield about an extended Platinum warranty. You can get a 7yr / 75K bumper to bumper for about $800 (I think). I paid $1K after taxes from my dealer and found out (on this site) that I could've got it from Troy and it's the same thing. Any dealer in the country will honor it. A lot of members on TW have gotten the warranty from him.

Here is a link to a discussion about it:

Congrats on joining this side of the fence. I love the taco and as you, traded a ridgeline.
The ridge is a great truck "yes truck" for the yoko's, but the taco is as well. I got 18 mpg in the ridge and get 16 - 17 in the taco (have a heavy pedal foot) things I miss from the ridge are the trunk, hands down best AWD snow traction and control ... but you won't need that in Florida;)
I do not regret having the taco.. enjoy!

I picked up my new Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab 2WD yesterday. I have to admit I had some mixed emotions when it finally came to giving up my Ridgeline (that damn' huge trunk in the bed) but once I handed off the keys, there was no looking back. I must say, I was quite pleased with the ride of the Tacoma and the torque of the engine. The trip home was about 45 minutes and mostly interstate driving. The stock 6 CD radio leaves a little to be desired in sound quality but we all know that already. There just weren't any 2WD Double Cab TRD Sports out there with the JBL package and from what I reviewed on here, not much good to say about that set up either. All in all, my first impressions of the truck are positive. More to follow down the road.

If the Ridgeline had been a color more to your liking, would you still say the Tacoma is significantly better than the Honda? Only losing $2K for a less than a year old truck says something about Honda's resale as well.

Had my Ridgeline been silver or white, I don't think I'd be posting on this forum. I really liked the Ridgeline alot. Great storage inside. Roomy backseat. Awesome trunk in the bed. Great handling onroad. Great safety features. I couldn't get over the color though. It was the last one they had and the price was so right. I really thought the color would grow on me. Unfortunately, it didn't. Funny thing is, I always had an interest in a Tacoma. I just never pursued one before. I actually never even dreamed that I'd get the deal that I got on the Tacoma I just bought. I used the Ridgeline for 10 months and it cost me $2000. Grant it my monthly car payment went up $36 but I think I may recoup some of that in improved fuel economy alone if my Tacoma gets as good mpg as everyone claims. Mixed driving with the Ridgeline I got 14-15 mpg. Time will tell. My wife thinks I am going through a mid-life crisis. LOL!
