4 inch deckplate....and the hole needs to be roughly 4 inches, but i'd trace the inside of the deckplate before cutting.

    Cheaper (I dunno about better).

Hasn't effected mine (that I'm aware of).

If you do it, and you don't like it, you haven't lost much (takes about 30 minutes and $15).

x2. that's the easiest way to get it at the right size. careful not to make it too big. it's easier to slowly increase the size than make it too big from the beginning.

    here's mine:

i'm really happy with the results. haven't dyno'd it, but i like the deeper sound and (maybe) better acceleration/power.

Why not just make it a 6" deckplate? It looks like it will fit.

a 6 inch may fit(i think that its too big for the box) but some of it will be covered up by the washer fluid reservoir......

If it does fit would there be any negatives to a larger hole?

No Dremel so I'm using a drill to cut the hole. I bought the deckplate then took the outer ring to Home Depot to see what size saw bit to buy. Looks like the 4.5" is just a hair smaller than the outer diameter of the ring. I'll let you know how it works tomorrow after the installation.
