My buddy has a 4runner with over 200k miles. We were looking it over today and he mentioned he heard about "cutting a hole in the intake box" and I immediately told him the deckplate mod. It is a 1997 (I think) 3.4L.

My question is whether or not the same affect would be achieved as the first gen tacos?

Yes, same effect, they share exactly the same engine as the 1st gen V6.
