Thats exactly what i was thinking.. Although like you said, it can be quite a pain in the ass, and the attorney fees start adding up quick.

Maybe what you should do with the money you would spend on an attorney is rent the billboard out in front of the Toyota dealer thats giving you all the trouble and put a big ole picture of that caved in motor mount on it! haha ok so maybe that isn't really practical, but it sure would be some good retribution.:D

Anyways, good luck on the situation!

I have thought about it and it wouldnt be a bad idea. Im sure it would loss them quite a bit of business, at least on the Tacomas

that would be a good way to go minus not paying my car payments. Im working on getting my credit back and that would definetly not be the way to go. It would take them months to possibly cave in that way and im sure they wouldnt cave in and they would just take my truck and be happy they got something out of it. Your other idea i have thought of, too bad i didnt live closer to the dealer

The defrost on the front and side windows only works if run on high. I just found some wipes that are said to cut back on fogging up and they seem to have fixed it, but it must be some sort of air flow issue that they engineeers overlooked.

Overall I am very happy, just did my 3 " lift. Only other thing is that the oh shit handle is in the wrong place on the passenger side....lol

I had the fan belt come apart at 500 miles and tear up the front main seal. (Cords wound around the crank snout.) Leaked a lot of oil, but I got it fixed right away & so far no leak has returned. Still, the truck only has 2500 miles on it.

I have one really annoying buzz, on the right side of the front passenger area or something, that always happens at about 42 MPH.

It doesn't buzz if a heavy enough person sits in the right passenger seat though. At 135 lbs, my wife isn't heavy enough to stop it.

When my 220 lb friend sits there it doesn't buzz.

Also, there is a vibration when I decelerate slowly at low speed. Somewhere around 25 MPH. I think it's because the engine is actually lugging as the trans doesn't down shift soon enough. If I shift it down myself, no problem.

I also usually down shift manually if I want to really accelerate from cruise speed. Otherwise it wants to delay the shift too long then suddenly jumps down two gears (to 3rd) and flashes to the redline. Very annoying.

Usually there is a random miss at idle if the engine isn't fully warm. Also the "high idle" when the engine's first started seems a bit too high.

First Toyo and bought for the rep of being longlasting and dependable,
The verdit is out on that one. 2nd day 34 miles on the odometer and the air bag light is on. Took to dealer where we just bought 2 autos and they have to order the part (air bag senor) and it will take at least a full day in the shop. WOW, WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! TRYIN TO STAY CALM, I'M on leave just got back from a 14 tour in Iraq. I wanted to see family and I have to wait until part comes in and they can repair! No a good way to win harts and minds.

I'm sure it will be alright in the end. It doesn't leave you with a good taste in your mouth though when you roll off the lot and somethings already wrong. As reliable and well built of a truck that the Tacoma is, unfortunately they cant all be perfect. Its just the inevitable. I wish you luck on getting in all squared away!

The only probs so far was with the wrong lift kit that was installed in my rear end when I bought the truck. Had to swap it out with a Toytec 2'' "long" AAL. I do have a slight clunk in my steering collom. I tracked it down to whare the 2nd intermediat shaft hooks to the steering collom, just haven't tore it apart yet.

Did you figure out what's making that "charge" or "pulse" noise? I just bought an 09 DC last week and just noticed the same noise. It happens a few seconds accelerating from standstill. It doesn't sound bad like something is breaking up. I can probably live with it if its normal.

Valve train ticking all speeds. Toyota adjusted valve twice noise never really went away. I thought is was an exhaust leak at first. The usual wind noise (it's a truck). Vibs though the steering at highway speeds (again it's a truck). 60,000 miles still runs great.

Same exact "quirks". Mine's a 2007 DC SB, 4x4 base, only suspension TSB done. However, I would describe the noise at start up and acceleration as a "rub" rather than a "charge". Good news, the clunky 4x gets better the more you use it.

    6) I get the kazoo/fingernail on chalkboard sound *from the hood scoop i think* with a strong crosswind at speeds over 65mph. I also have a ticking sound coming from (i believe) a bearing going out in the a/c & heater blower motor.

my heater blower motor had annoying ticks. i took it in and they pulled out a friggin crap load of pine needles! and one bolt that holds the heater in place was loose, causing a loose washer vib sound. hopefully yours is just as simple.

Sweet... hopefully mine will be as simple as that. I was planning on taking it in to the dealership this past Friday. But wouldn't you know I hop in the taco and she's not making any sound. So, I didn't even bother b/c I knew I would get the standard "we don't hear it" when I got to the dealer. I'm sure the sound will be back on Monday morning.

lol ya it always works out that way! mine does it off and on because they said they couldnt get all of the pine needles out, some of them are stuck to the insides and shift down in to the fan, so i get the noise every so often:rolleyes:
