    6. When I go over speed bumps at about 5-10 miles mph it sounds like my bed is loose, a clunk sound. I guess you could say a little ticking from the engine.

AC Compressor won't engage after 41k miles. AC amp unit accessory cable came loose and broke, replaced o-rings and got system recharged. Hear a light clicking noise from the left rear driver side door. Pull on door lightly and noise goes away and only on highway speeds.

Found out today truck was in a front end accident w/ prior owner. Was never disclosed to me by the selling Toyota dealer. Bought certified used with 34k miles and no record on car fax of prior accident. Who knows what other abuse its' been through with only one previous owner.

Hear light engine ticking noises. When clutch is disengaged, hear a slight rattling noise from left undercariage. When clutch is engaged, slight rattling sound is quiet but still lightly present. Also, when engaged in reverse and letting off clutch; hear slight ticking clunk noise from rear undercariage.

Have driven vehicle offroad several times. Any relation to the condenser coils or amp unit disconnecting while offroading is beyond me. Or possibly caused by front end accident, prior damage and never corrected.

Last, whenever offroading and applying brakes to stop either suddenly or from a down hill sloap; hear front left and right front winding noises near the front axles and brake pedal apears to stiffen when applied.

    6) I bought the truck brand new and when I first received the truck it did not want to crank on the first time for the first couple of weeks I had it (bad gas I think). Only once I had the light behind the stereo go out until I hit a large bump and it came back on. I can't wait to get the REAR TSB done!

Every time I wash the truck I get water coming out between the door panels & the metal part of the door. There is always water on the door sills when I open the doors after washing on all 4 doors. Twice I have had water coming out my front passenger side speaker grille. It looks like the bottom seal on the window is 1/8" too short which leaves a gap for water to run inside the door. I pulled the panel off & pushed the plastic sheeting into the the glue strip around the door, but it still leaks. There should not be water inside the door to begin with! I haven't brought it back to the dealer yet, but will be bringing it in next week.

i have had that happen before too, after washing. cause i wiped down those parts and saw more water and dirt coming out of the areas you mentioned. but never through the speaker grille yet. thats whacked either way. let me know what the dealer tells you. might have mine checked, too.

I challenge anyone to beat this list:

    - Rear leaf TSB (replaced leaf pack due to excessive bottoming)
    - Torn front mud flaps replaced (design flaw with '05 flaps)
    - Air Conditioning compressor replaced (bit the bullet)
    - Front bumper TSB (new aluminum cross member due to design flaw)
    - Exhaust Manifold TSB (new manifolds due to exhaust ticking)
    - Two oxygen sensors (facked during exhaust manifold TSB)
    - Rear actuator replaced for the locking diff (locker wouldn't engage)
    - Rear locking actuator position switch replaced on two separate occasions (located on rear axle)
    - Premature death of various bulbs and leds in the dash area.
    - New fog light switch
    - Four new TRD OR Aluminum rims (peeling, bubbling finish)
    - Blown out front Bilstein shock (replaced with Bilstein 5100's on my dime)
    - Two rear side axle seals replaced (leaked gear oil in rear drums)
    - Rear brake shoes and drums replaced due to contamination from leaking side axle seals
    - Rear mud flap torn (replaced on my dime)
    - Rack and pinion replaced (worn internal bushings - clunking noise)
    - Lower control arms and ball joints replaced (excessive play)
    - Front left caliper replaced (seizure)
    - Front brake pads replaced due to seized caliper
    - New hinges on drivers door (worn pins/bushings)
    - Heater / AC control box replaced due to non serviceable, burnt out LED back lighting.
    - New sway bar bushings due to excessive play/clunking
    - New battery
    - One of the rear "updated" TSB leafs snapped (replaced on my dime).
    - Front right wheel bearing imploded
    - Front right brake caliper seized
    - Brake pads replaced again due to seized caliper
    - Another new front rim replaced under warranty.
    - Replaced all 24 lug nuts due to aluminum caps falling off/disfigured.

All this in 93,000 miles. I use my Truck, but NEVER abuse it.

Two Issues. 1.) Squeaky ass springs in the rear, wtf?
2.) I have to turn my front rotors almost daily with all the front braking power, thus vibrations while decelerating.

Anyone throw a disc conversion on the rear yet?

Oh the design flaw with the front mud flaps on the 2005's, the problem is they crack after landing.

    I hope you are kidding...

This thread is making me paranoid about a near future purchase of a Tacoma. I have a 93 toyota 4x4 with over 300,000 miles and it has had NONE of these issues. everything is still tight, no noise. I also have a dodge diesel with over 100K on it and it has NONE of these issues. Is Toyota making a piece of crap now?

i think the dealer is feeding you fluff and a lie of crap. Mine used to do that until i had my tires rotated. i think the main issue is either front end alignment or a tire wear rotation issue. that doesnt make sense for it to steer to the right. they just tell people anything to avoid fixing the issue. took me several times of going back to the dealer under warranty to have them fix a similar issue on an 2004 i once had. they ended up replacing the steering rack but made me wonder if that even was the issue. i think the older toyotas are built better, from seeing all the issues people are having with the new ones? keep in mind, they are no longer truly built in japan anymore and imported and put together in california or in the USA someplace. so the quality of workmanship is no longer good?

My windows sometimes rattle if they are only partially down.
My rear springs were squeaking (fixed with some WD-40).
Clutch pedal squeaks certain days (WD-40 helps for a day).

No problems really. Rear suspension was a bit squeeky a couple of times, but that went away. Clutch pedal used to creek and squeek but dealership fixed that no problem.
