No issues (Rubber mat and 240# of sandbags in the bed for snow traction might be concealing the noise..?) I wish it had a fog light indicator lamp.

    Awesome little truck!

    6) At 13,000 miles engine block spontaneously cracked when cylinders randomly filled with water shortly after truck was driven into small pond. Not covered under extended warranty. Leaky front right axle seal. Probably one of the no-good friends of that engine block guy. Ridiculous bass entirely to thumpy for my not-so ghetto fabulous self.

Could be a couple of things:

1] I had ice buildup somewhere in a drain hole or somweher I couldn't find it. Rattled awful for days until the truck thawed out ina heated garage. Thaw it out before you put yourself through the agrivation of dealing with the service department.

2] Could be the steering column rag joint that is a common source of noise as you have described. Some trucks do it, some don't.

well, turns out it was some snow/ice lodged somewhere, because immediately after taking it thru the automatic car wash, the noise disappeared. Then, it reappeared while driving down the road, but not as bad. Had to be ice. It was completely gone after the 2nd car wash. Not the worst thing that could have happened, and I have a cleaner truck now!

    6) The Volume knob stopped working on the stereo head unit, but worked on the steering wheel. Dealer replaced Stereo (Panasonic unit)
Head liner light, switch for ON position is finicky. Worry about other weirdness, which is why I sold my VW for the Toyota... although my wife's RAV4 has been good except for Yokohoma tires that wore out with 13k miles on them (dealer/Toyota gave us 4 New Michellin tires for the price of doing the alignment on it ($90), and the steering knuckle to the steering rack made a clunk noise when turning (Toyota replaced out of warranty 37 months).
    a) brake calipers surface rust, very annoying, now I need to paint them.
    b) BF Goodrich rugged Trail T/A: SUCK in snow and ICE, also hydro-plane in rain easily

hi tig1 calling- sometimes I get a wind sound on the passenger side just above where the doors meet, the second gear grabs when going from first to second, the upper part of the passenger seat (back rest) shakes when you hit a bump-pothole-tracks.otherwise I am happy with my truck:)

So Far I'm happy with the truck. Just holding me breath waiting for them to tell me that this too is involved with the recalls

I think that's the normal sound of the relay (timer) I'm pretty sure most vehicles make a similar noise, I heard the same thing on my VW's.

REF the 6F above, it will be something that fell into the blower motor housing, under the cabin air filter. I took mine in twice because of the ticking. Second time they found a loose wire that was hitting the fan blades. As to the rest of you delima, man should have made sure the truck was built on a Wednesday, that way the workers arent recovering from the weekend, and arent looking forward to another weekend.

The transmission!! it is a POS in this truck. Yes I have had the TSB re-flash done and still I have many more issues with the way it shifts or does not shift.

Toyota is no help, can't even get through to them on the phone. I spent 30 minutes today on hold so far. My dealer is a bunch of morons and I have filed a email complaint on them as of today. I am all but done with this ordeal and it may be time to get rid of my headache.

    6) a - The biggest thing right now is the super annoying ticking come from my blower fan. No matter what speed it is at I can hear it over the radio (unless of course it is turned up very loud).
b - I've noticed a slight vibration at 65 mph cruising speeds. It seems minor but is starting to get on my nerves.
c - Sort of a gurgling noise coming from under the hood at around 1000-1250 rpm when I'm driving. I have a K&N CAI (installed before I bought the truck) and I wonder if that is where the sound comes from. I gets really annoying!
