    6) Mild vibration when cruising between 45-55mph. I plan to bring this to the dealer's attention when I take it in for its first oil change and request a road force balance.

Bad clutch! My 2010 4 cyl., 5sp., 4X4 developed a slipping clucth at only 6,000 miles. It was particularly noticeable when I accelerated in 4th or 5th. The dealer could not reproduce the slipping so I waited another 500 or so miles and took it back. It appears ther is a 'silent recall or shop bulletin with a specific number on clutches. The plates made in Mexico tend to develop bent the fingers. I requested a replacement with the Japanese manufactured pressure plate. They took it all apart and replaced the clucth, pressure plate, and all related parts free. They also provided a free loander car during repairs. I had to be persistant, but they did fix it effectively. It now has the full wanrrenty on it. My truck has got 9,850 miles on it. It was frustrating, but eventually I was very satisfied.

the climate fan squeaks like crazy when on #1 or 2. i actually now have a noise when the air conditioning compressor is running and its not the initial clunk of it coming on either it like a clatter of some type and its consistent the whole time the compressor is running.

it also sounds as if there is a leak somewhere on the exhaust system, but i believe that this is common with these trucks and there is nothing actually wrong, but they will be hearing about it and checking it out anyway.

    6) I believe it's all across the board for all Tacoma's but I have always (for the short period of time I have had the truck) noticed it's "spongy" or "soft" brake pedal. It seems to have enough braking power when you really need it but not enough easy "intermediate" or light braking. Ah well, the truck's awesome otherwise. :goingcrazy:

Now I am taking it in for the popping noise the front end makes when going up or down a hill at low speeds with an angle. For example, coming out my driveway. Also will have them check out the vibe at 20 mph and the grind at 60 mph

Amsoil chain lube can be used as an undercoating. don't use tradition undercoating. I go under my truck every year and touch it up. It will last forever that way.

Forgot how many times i posted on this thread. MY 1999 was bullet proof, my 2009 has had more fucken problems than I can remember. I still like it, but if you put a NEW 1999 & 2008 the same Tacomas I had. I would take the 1999 - this just in it was a 99 the last year for 10x31 tires. Like I was saying that little truck was like a Jeep pickup but better than jeep crap. I'd take a new one, put a blower on it, small lift & tires. Dam I miss that fucken Taco. I'm not saying I don't like the 2008 it's bigger and so on, but the 99 has my heart. Thats all:eek:

That is my 2008 not 2009, my other one was a 1999. I wish I had the money to put one away for 10 years. Miss that truck.
