Engine noise under acceleration. Almost sounds like an exhauset leak. Sounds horrible actually. Let y'all know as it progresses and what the dealer does if I take it in. I will let it break in a little more before I complain(only 350 miles on it)

The only issue I have had in the front fender wells, the drivers side doen't line up well, and those push pins keep falling out. I have replace them 4 times since 05. But HA I fix them up now!!
Other than that, (which is meaningless) no issues and would buy another.

Almost have 8000 miles on it now, only real thing i could complain about is I wish the brakes were a little better. 4 wheel disc would have been nice.

The clear coat paint on the hood had several blemishes. It appears that when it was applied, grit got in the final coat before it dried. Barely noticeable, but I see it. The dealer tried wet sanding to no avail. I am mneeting with the District Factory rep tomorrow at 1100 hours. I'm hoping for a repaint of the hood...

I Freakin love my truck!!..........The only thing that I have noticed is that the tire pressure light comes on a good bit. I have checked all tires except the spare tire. I have a felling this is the problem. Is there any way to reset the tire pressure light without having to put air in the spare tire all the time?

    6) Water leak since new Toyota tried to fix three times. Now working with National Center for Dispute Settlement, have arbitration hearing on 11/18/08. Asked for new Tacoma with same options & color.
    I'm waiting to get outcome.
I will need to get very loose visor clips fixed and window sweek.

Nine years, 222,115 miles not one problem. Two sets of front breaks original disks, original rear shoes just cleaned. Original clutch and the most unreal part all the original blubs! The truck had all service work done at Toyota of Libertyville. Just had third set of tires put on before it was sold. Blower motor made small noise and seat belt was warn. Also had to replace MAS blub two times. One AC recharge. City/HWY combo MPG 20.5.
    BEST AUTO I EVER OWNED!!!:D

Call Toyota start a case if they can't fix it you have a clame. Get the paper work and send it in. Toyota stands behind there autos. Just so you know, the reason I have a new one they gave me $14,115.00 buy back for my 1999 with 222,000 miles. Frame rust.:)

    08 4cly Access Cab 4x4 Manual

-1st gear is to steep, concerned with clutch failure
-2nd is to high when going into a stop light at slowing down then having to acclerate if it turns
-5th gear is only usuable over 70mpg, geared really high
-While acclerating it sounds like there is a exhaust leak
-AC makes loud noise when starting sometimes
-shifting makes noises, minor but doesn't sound nice and smooth like I'd expect

Better than a Dodge for sure. Better than a Ford, they suck and break a lot. Better than a Chevy.. ???

    6) Discribe your issue/defect as best you can if you have any.
    a) Vibration at most speeds. Have had the Rugged Trails replaced under warrenty, put the credit toward BFG All Terrain KO's. Issue improved but still there.
    b) Vibration on acceleration (as seen by other members, I believe it might be slop in the carrier bearing).
    c) Passenger suicide door vibrating on bumps. I finally identified where it's coming from yesterday. The door has slop when closed, and on bumps/washboard/ect (even some tarmac bumps) it rattles. So so annoying, going to call Toyota service for some warrenty work on monday.

That's really it... mostly just annoyances but.. still stuff that drives me up the wall. I'd still have traded and did it all over again though.

Nah...you're seeing a lot of first time truck owners, probably with no more than a few years of driving experience under their belts, who are still thinking "car", while driving a truck; that, and factor in the reality that people with a proclivity to whining are more likely to post than the norm.

"Railroad debris" was probably the agent's way of describing damage incurred during rail transport, when the vehicles were moved from ports of arrival (or even cross country from Fremont) to regional distribution points, and thence to dealerships.
