Does anyone have any information or opinions on PepBoys Definity tires? I know they are made by cooper so how bad can they be. Thier mud terrain tires look bad ass and for $112 a tire with the fourth one free can you really go wrong? My current tires are the nitto terra grapplers and I have 11k miles on them and there almost ready to be changed. No bueno...Lemme know.

i know alot of people that have different definity tires.....no problems that i have heard of. i was looking at the mud tires too.......look like they would do rather well. plus......one of the definity tires kinda look alot like the bfg at's, but way cheaper.

I previously ran them on my 02 tacoma, they were great she was a 4x2 prerunner and very capable. The only reason I didn't run them on my 07 4x4 is because they don't make them taller than 31.6" tall. Oh and on my 2 wheel drive they would clean off at 4200 rpm and pull like hell.

edit: those were the all terrains. I don't have any experience with the mud tires.

Anybody else got the Definity Mud Terrains? I gotta quote from Pepboys today for $750 out the door plus a mail in rebate so I get the 4th tire free. The price includes mounting and balancing. The tire size is 285/75/16 :woot:

Ive heard good reviews about them. the guy was asking 160/tire and the fourth one is free due to a mail in rebate. but the installation fee is more than just buying a fourth tire if you think about it.

^ Thats how they get your ASS! Then get the $$ back from the Free 4th Tire. Can you get the tires and get it mounted elsewhere?

Tires are OK but why NOT search harder as I got my Brand New COOPER STT 285/70/17's for $812 Mounted, Balanced, & Installed.

I think the buy 3 get one free is if you get it mounted there. Dont quote me on that but I think that is how it goes.

    812 is a sweet deal.
Arent those coopers suppose to be more expensive than bfg km2s?

On my 2001 Taco 4WD, I ran the Pep Boys Futura Dakotas as a cheap alternative to BFG Rugged Trails or All Terrain T/As. At the time, they were $85 and rated for 50,000 miles. I had to replace them at 25,000 miles, but they only cost 1/2 price!

So, they don't last as long... but were inexpensive.

Other brands of tires have only lasted about 30,000 miles on my Tacos... The exception was the 3 ply Cooper STT mud tires, which lasted closer to 40K miles... but were very noisey on the highway.

I have 285/75R16 MTs on mine. Perhaps they just didn't have any in stock.

I have them. I love them. They're wearing well. I have over 20K miles on them and they still look good. 40K mile warranty.

It's about the same as the price of a tire. Still not bad though as it includes a road hazzard warranty.

I've got close to 40k on mine and still have 50% tread left. Little noisy on the hwy but no worse than BFGs. Plus they are wearing evenly!
