We have thought about it but we are waiting for our laser cutter to answer us on cost. There are some problems with Aluminum though, first thing is no hoops on top unless they are bolted on, which I wouldn't recommend. Next is it would need to be thicker material in order to be as strong. And the cost, I'm pretty sure the cost would be so high no one would be interested. Aluminum is not a cheap metal to work with. I do know of one manufacture that makes a very similar bumper to our FJC bumper and If I remember correctly the weight savings is a whopping 8lbs over ours.

If anything (and I have said the same thing to the FJ guys) I would look more at a steal base for the bumper and a fiberglass shell or carbon fiber shell. It would be pretty costly but should save some decent weight.

We can do bumpers with out the DO but it would be custom and fall under our normal pricing.

We made some changes to these bumpers but I don't have one mounted on a truck yet to show it.

aluminum for a front skid plate like mine just on a tube bumper is $250 FYI, aluminum would be so expensive it wouldnt be worth it like demello said.

Oh, and if anyone sees a demello off road bumper, with no hoops on top for sale in arizona or around arizona. please let me know, a fellow member had one stolen off of his truck 2 nights ago. thanks guys.

Yes, he already called me to tell me. I can't believe that. These bumpers are still fairly new so it should be easy to find that guys bumper if the guy is dumb enough to install it right away. In-fact if he wants to find it he might post a picture of his truck and the bumper on a couple forums so people can keep an eye out for it.

I'm not even sure they make aluminum tube. They make bar but I don't know if they make tube. If they did it would most likely crack or bend weird if you were to bend it. But to be honest I have never worked with aluminum tube.

The cost again would be huge!

We filled the gap in on top of the bumpers just a little bit. Were talking about trimming the side profile on the ends on these bumpers to be more of a straight cut. So that it matches the body lines better.

    Thank you.

They do make tube , it doesn't crack or deform when bent , they use it all the time up here in aluminum boat building .

Currently RelentlessFab , Elite Offroad and Aluminess are all offering welded aluminum tube headlight protection , I thought maybe there was a particular design issue with your bumper that would only allow for a bolt on application .

FWIW , the cost issue is not huge

    Your bumpers look great BTW

Very interested in the 3 hoop, would it be possible to measure how far this sticks out from the hood? Otherwise id have to move to get the bumper :)

    Thanks for the info.

I didn't measure it but it's about 5in. I don't have a Tacoma here to measure off of.

Right on. Couldn't quite tell from pics if it hung down far enough to interfere where the skid butts up against the bottom. I can't remember which, but there's one bumper where you have to grind either the skid or the bumper. Not a big deal if you do, either way. Just wondering.

    Thanks!
