Armorology makes some nice bumpers and equipment, however you're going to pay for it. I was getting quotes for my wifes Jeep and they were talking $1200+ for a front bumper. There are a couple of other fabricators in Colorado Springs that will do custom work for about $1k as well.

NYCO, do you know who makes that bumper or at least who sells those water/fuel cans? I want a set for my camping rig.

    Edit: NM found them. http://www.rotopax.com/

I am noticing that they are a priced pretty high, $650 for rock sliders, but that is installed. Here is the thing though, I am noticing most other high clearance bumpers are about $800, then you throw in shipping, I think my All-Pro front was close to $200 and that was in a fairly small box since it comes in pieces. If you could get it built locally and put the cost of shipping into the bumper, you may be able to get some additional options. I would be interested to see what Sawtooth could do, what their pricing is, and how soon they could come up with something.

R&D is moving forward in a few directions at once, but designing is moving forward...our main focus is on the rear bumpers which maybe coming out before the rears, but he already has the basic designs down for the front, just needs to be tweaked to fit the taco design..so it's not too far away

that's the idea, is to have a local fabricator making us armor and save on shipping...and these will come fully welded together as a one piece bumper

    that's a demello design...

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/demello-offroad/159035-custom-rear-bumper.html

demello states a bumper like that will range from 1500-3500 depending on options

Basically the options that I am looking for in a bumper is wrap around style that would require cutting the bed sides, round holes for back up lights, a pivot point and lock point for a swing gate (just the mounting areas, the gate is something I would like to do on my own), receiver hitch or integrate use of factory hitch, possibly a mounting spot for cb antenna. That is all I can think of for now, I will let you know if I think of anything else.

looking at a tire gate mounting point similar to cbi

the sides may also be similar to the cbi sides, versus the larger sides of the ATOs

other options that are high priority:
solid mounting points to support towing capacity similar to stock
2" receiver integrated into the bumper (license plate)
side supports tying into the frame
    optional D-shackle mounts
tire gate option (at least creating space for a tire gate to be mounted later)
    option for rear lights

most likely these will be sold as bare metal

If it is similar to the CBI sides, I will be looking for a different bumper, I hate the way that one looks. I do like how the swing out is designed on this one though. And the shackle mounts are a must, don't know how I forgot about that!!!

I do personally, I think it is cleaner looking lines, and if you have to cut the bed anyway, may as well CUT THE BED. HAHA. I can provide you CAD files of the bumper that I posted, I can convert it out of SketchUp.

A small handful of select mods.
Armorology requires custom install and fitting. They will keep your rig for the entire project usually. So their prices will always have install in it.

Personally I would like to see more of tube bumper with some plate on the corners welded into it to create a true hybrid. High Clearance. My line on the bed sides would match the bottom of the tail lights. Similar to Scotty's Addicted Off Road 4 Runner

So is the price for sliders $650? Do you have a price list for anything yet, or is it a case by case quote. I have an 05 dbl cab short bed. Thanks. btw, I live down the street too

This is for Sawtooth Industries, not Armorology. It seems like Sawtooth should have some pricing in the next couple of months.

No, the $650 is what Armorology charges for sliders, they are located in Colorado springs. That price includes install. http://www.armorology.com/Product Info.htm Sawtooth has not released any product or pricing for Tacoma parts yet.

Just found this post this morning http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/164975-bumpers-2nd-gens-only.html
I have been looking on build threads at bumpers that people have, the one thing I have noticed is that non of them have swing gates attached to the bumper. ATO has the swing gate that replaces the tailgate, Relentless shows that they offer a swing gate but I didn't see any pictures of it. One of them had a price on shipping of $100 which I didn't think was horrible. All of them with the options that we discussed were running right about $1k. I am going to work on tweaking my design a little bit, maybe something a little more simple without as many angles, but if you are going to Sawtooth at any point to review stuff, I would love be meet you there just to see the shop and maybe help with ideas.

Ok, I just found pictures of the ATO bumper with the swing gate, it is exactly how I would like it to look, I will get some pics up here in a bit.
