    Anyone in TX do this I'm in DFW and can't disassemble my daily driver? For those curious I opened my radio it has a total of 42 leds in it.

    dont forget the additional 10 behind the main screen on the 05-08 radios (05-08 have a total of 52, and 09+ have a total of 64) ;)

    I included the ones behind the screen I looked all over the entire board and there were only 42 the fourth time I counted them.

    hhmmm...ive done 3-4 radios and have used 52 each time for the 05-08s....so?!

    If some kind fellow tacomaworld member would like to help out all those lack of soldering experienced people out there, it would be greatly appreciated. Just give a decently detailed explanation of removing the existing LED and soldering the new one, using the flux, wick etc. Some pictures would be even better.

    It seems everyone leaves the red light at the top of the RPM gauge and the temp gauge red. Is it possible to change this?

    I learned from YouTube. I think it was "expert village - how to solder surface mount LEDs". Try a search on that. Hope this helps you.

    those arent lights...the faceplate is painted red in those areas on the backside...specifically for warnings.

    ^ the faceplace or the circuit board doesnt look like any of the ones in the pics? i know the faceplate is slightly different, but the circuit board probably is exactly the same.

    havent seen any. why dont you take a pic of your circuit board for us and share!

    not successfully. the orange is acutually an orange plastic that is sandwiched between a frosted plastic on the backside and the silver paint on the front. the lights are actually just clear bulbs behind there.

    the only thing you can really do with it is install red LEDs to make it red, thats about it.
