Sorry guys, somehow my notifications got all screwed up and I wasn't getting notified of new posts or pms.

As traviste said, very easy to remove the cluster. You can even drive without it if needed.

Hey your thread helped me out a ton and I got my gauges done! I just put white out on the back of my needles so they would look blue, how did you get them so blue??

right on @Gavin Goodfellow , glad to help out! white on the back of the needle is the correct way to go, just make sure you dont paint any more up the needle than OEM. you should not paint any further than the center black cover. i know i had a guy paint the entire needle and the LED light could not shine through and the needles were very dim.

also, the needles do look nice and blue in person, but the camera may be playing tricks, i dont have anything fancy, just a point and shoot!

sorry for the tardy reply, never got a notice of this reply

sorry, notifications arent working again for some reason, just saw this.

1 LED per gear (P, R, N, D, 4,3,2,1) so 8 total. i always recommend keeping "R" a completely different color than the rest for safety reasons. on my all red cluster in my 4runner, i did "R" in blue. 1 or 2 LEDs (depending on the year) are required for the backlighting of the gear area
