Nice 4runner, looks good with the lift....Since you have driven both a new Tacoma and 02' 4runner, which do you like better and why?? I'm debating on selling my 99' 4runner and getting a 06-08 4door Tacoma. Just wondering which you like better? Thanks

Honestly, the 4Runner. It just feels better. Feels better built, it drives better, gets better mileage, and I love being able to open up the back and throw my crap back there. :D

Dude, my mileage went up after I put the 285s on.

I really don't know how, but I'm not complaining. When the stock size tires were on, I'd cruise at 70 MPH at just over 2000 RPM (probably around 2200). After the 285s went on, I can cruise at 70 MPH at just under 2000 RPM (around 1800). My first quarter tank of gas with the stock tires on, I got 85 miles. On the second fill up with the 285s on, I got 94 miles on the first quarter of the tank. This was all on the same stretch of freeway.

    WIN.

Mega win! I guess at highway speeds the larger tires dont spin as fast as the smaller ones, which would decrease your rpms!

just curious, what was the dealer asking for that 4runner? most of the ones i see around here are wanting 7-10k for 98-01 4x4 runners

Well around here they can mark them up pretty bad because there's a pretty high demand and they are very hard to find in Southern California, especially one in pristine condition like the one I found.

They were asking $12,995 for the 02 with 108,000 miles. My dad talked them down to $12,000 and they gave us $5,500 for my mom's 03 Camry that we traded in. After all the taxes and trade-in value it was $8,000.

A dealer down the street was asking $8,995 for a 97 with 185,000 miles and the oil was leaking, the motor just sounded...bad, and it smelled bad. The interior needed work. Somebody scratched the word "Juan" on the hood. Yeah...
