The dentent cable on my 98 Taco with a 2.7 has melted to the exhaust. I took it off at the throttle body. Will it hurt it to run it around with it disconnected ?

Yes. Will kill the transmission eventually if unhooked completely. Also most just call it a kick down cable.

will cause damage over time and not shift right. its a 30min job to replace with a cordless impact to zip the trans pan off. i arced mine out on the battery terminal and siezed it last year.

Thanks guys. I ordered one from the dealer. I was really surprised I couldn't find an aftermarket one.
