I’m planning on doing a regear, locker rear and limited slip front. I haven’t seen anyone with a 2nd gen running a truetrac. Was wondering if they would work or if they even make one for the front diff.

As far as I know they don't make one for the front diff. Front diff is a 7.5 instead of 8.5" iirc. Would recommend the true trac rear though. Plenty of people running them on the rear

I will be putting in a selectable rear locker for sure just wandering if there was a good limited slip option for the front.

There is the option of swapping in the rear diff from a FRS. There is a thread somewhere on here.

I believe east coast gear now sells front and rear differentials with true trac options.

That’s interesting. I’m not going to do it.
I’d have a glorified PreRunner before I did it myself. But there’s something about Frankenstein builds I like.

The idea of taking something, and putting in something that it has no business being in, and making it work has always intrigued me.

If you buy it from Nitro, it has the speedmaster stamp on it. It's a good option if you know how to manipulate it.

What’s there to manipulate? TBR is not adjustable

Read up on how a torsen works, there is some manipulation. Mainly applying a little brake and gas at same time.

    Right?
One of the biggest costs for doing a regear is the labor. If you're already paying to have it done, the locker isn't the most expensive part anymore.

Truetracs were out of stock when I did my regear. I ended up going with the Yukon version front and rear. They are great. Ecgs said for 35s plus the truetrac may be a little better
    Good luck

I’ve been looking. Is the front diff on the 2nd gen the 8 inch reverse?

I know this is true on some vehicles with traction control, not sure with the second gen, but a lot of the time the only manipulation you need on a torsen diff is to leave the traction control on, it will brake the spinning wheel and the diff will activate.

I'm running a truetrac rear and harrop locker up front. Truck will go anywhere the wifeys JL Rubicon goes and she has front and rear lockers. If you run an LSD up front wouldn't the front driveshaft spin in 2wd?

Not bad if making it an AWD truck though. ;)

when I build a front diff for a 2nd gen on the ecgs website, they list a torsen limited slip as an option. No brand name though.
