Every now and then America's Tire will offer promotions for either KO2 or Duratracs, buy 3 get 1 free. The treadwear on the Duratracs are surprisingly good, comparable to ATs, about 60k road miles from what I hear. This is how they looked on my jeep when I had one 90914201_554150092168937_373756540953296_38f4b630ed1f6b7672d522c7beda74c1ae9af009.jpg

Not really super exciting, but I did get my summer tires put back on a couple weeks ago. Had them put the summer (OE) tires back on my Sport OE wheels so it is ready to trade back in for a 2020.

Unfortunately also found out my 2020 build is delayed again with a new estimated build date of July 8. Not surprised, but it is what it is.

My 2020 OR build delayed until at least early July now... PITA.

Not much update, but now with production going again they've confirmed my build date for new OR should be around July 6th. Assuming couple weeks for transport, probably getting it in mid to late July.

Confirmed with my dealer that the truck was actually built on the 6th, as (finally, after many delays) planned. Should be on the train and on its way soon.

I've started picking up more stuff for the new 2020 truck...

    IMG_20200708_110849.jpg

Got in new badge overlays since I didn't want to try to pull those off the old truck and figured it would just be easier to just get new ones. Found an auction for just those three badges in the picture, since I didn't need the whole kit and still have my tailgate inserts that never got put on from last time. Not sure if I'll use the "V6" overlay this time or just pull that entire badge off as it seems pointless to me, but I have it just in case.

Also got the 2020 bed lights, as you can see.

Put in a couple more orders last night too. First is for a new Redarc brake controller, harness to hook it up, and "blank button" mount to put to the left of steering wheel using the new MESO panel. Second I got the OEM tailgate power lock kit. I'll probably end up selling the KTJO one I already have, since I'd rather stick to OEM if possible, so I'm going that direction.

Debating if I want to order the Rockblokz mud flaps or just keep using the OEM ones for now. I'll pull them off the old truck either way, as I said always nice to keep my options open.

Love how organized your posts are. Looking forward to seeing the truck when it comes in.

What was up witht th '19 that made you want to get rid of it?

Also, are those Nendroids in the backgroud? I'd love to see pics of your collection of figures!

About the '19, I'll point you to my rant here which covers the major things that have happened with it.

As for the nendoroids and other anime figures, that is just my stack of them in my office that I keep meaning to put out. I have many many more in bins too. Moved a few years ago and haven't gotten to putting them out on display sadly, so there isn't a whole lot to show right now. I do have most of what I have saved on MyFigureCollection if you want to see my collection over there. Also shmax for Transformers, of which I have way too many as well. :D

Here's a better view of the stack in that corner anyway:

Wow, sucks to hear about what happened to the old truck so it's great that you're getting a fresh start with the 2020. Are you just trading in the 2019 or selling it privately.

Thanks for the pics! I'd love to see the full collection when you eventually get it all up. I was big into comics and figures in the 2000s. I stopped collecting and sold most of my collection but still love seeing what other people have.

I'll be trading in the 2019. In my state (I think it isn't uncommon, but for sure in MN), the trade-in value is subtracted off the price of the new vehicle for calculating sales tax, if they are on the same "receipt". So by trading in I can save a couple thousand on the taxes. That makes it worthwhile and easier to trade-in rather than try to do a private sale, in my opinion.

Got some stuff pulled off the 2019 today in preparation for trading in:

    - Black oval step bars off, but they are kind of gunky from the crappy undercoating that I never should have got, so might buy new ones or just get proper sliders
    - Tekonsha P3 brake controller out and swapped back to standard cubby
    - Shift knob back to stock (now I'm remembering how much I hate the stock knob!)
    - Brackets for bed extender removed

Tried to pull off a couple things and decided it wasn't worth it:

    - TRD exhaust tip - rusted/seized in place, have the TRD cat-back exhaust for the new truck which already has a tip I believe
    - Mud flaps - took one off and saw just how badly they rub the fender flares and scratch/take off paint, decided it would be better just to leave them on (DON'T buy stock mud flaps!)

Pretty much just have to pull the carpeted floor mats, the bed mat, and empty out the various glove box/console/storage areas when the time comes!

Also, my "maintenance needed" light just came on this weekend, which isn't surprising since I'm just under 20k miles. Debating whether to get the oil change done now or just let them do it when I trade in...

Got the oil change done, it was covered under Toyota Care so I figured why not. Didn't want the maintenance light on when I traded it in, even if it was just for an oil change/20K service.

More parts coming in - RokBlokz mudflaps, OEM tailgate power lock, and Redarc brake controller (plus needed wires, mounts, etc).

Emailed the sales guy and he figures end of this week or beginning of next for the 2020 to be in and ready.

Truck should be ready tomorrow! But they have shorter hours due to Covid and I'm busy with work so won't get a chance to get in there until Saturday.

I put this in the 2020 thread, but had to add it here as well since it worked out so well:

FINALLY after being on this thread since its creation basically, I can add my own info! I ordered a 2020 truck back in late February but due to covid causing factory shutdowns and such, only finally got it today. BUT this ended up working out well for me in the end!

Bought a 2020 Cement Off-Road 6MT with Premium, Advanced Tech, and LED packages, plus the port adds the all-weather floor mats and door sill protectors. Declined anything else such as GAP, paint protection, bumper-to-bumper extended warranty (though they do include a 10yr/150k mile drivetrain warranty on all new cars from this place for $0, which is nice), etc. I'll take care of that kind of stuff on my own as needed. No other accessories or add-ons. MSRP is $42,503.

The dealer I got it from is a "no haggle" place, so pretty much take what they give you. They were going to sell it to me at today's current pricing, which was just under MSRP basically, but I reminded them that I ordered back in Feb and that we had an agreed upon price already! Luckily I still had the email with the quote and was able to bring it up on my phone to prove it. Because of that, I got it for a sale price of $39,432 (took the 1.9% rate, so didn't get the additional $1000 rebate). That puts me at around 7% discount and is comparable to a different dealer I checked with Costco pricing back around the same time I ordered in Feb. Being a "no haggle" place and having to do a special order/allocation, I was ok with that even back then, BUT that is a great price now since they are barely discounting at all right now.

As you probably also know, due to the shortage of vehicles they are paying very well for used vehicles/trade-ins. I traded in my 2019 Sport 6MT with Premium and Tech packages. They mostly go close to KBB trade-in value as a rough estimate and back in Feb that was around $29k is all. I was somewhat disappointed, but due to reasons I've talked about before, I wanted to get a clean and new truck, so I sucked it up. Well, due to current circumstances, they offered $33k on my trade-in. Net gain of $4000 for waiting an extra 4 months, I'll take it! I was pretty happy with that and combined with the discounted sale price above, it worked out pretty well on the timing, I'd say.

Also, due to the decreased sale price and the increased trade-in price, that helped even more with sales taxes. In MN you only pay sales tax on the difference between your sale and trade-in prices. So instead of paying ~$39.5k * 6.5% = $2563 in sales tax, I only paid ($39.5k - $33k) * 6.5% = $418. So another $2000 in "savings"!

Things are a little muddy with trade-in and payoff values being mixed in, but with sales price $39432 + tax $418.08 + licence $542.50 + doc fees $125, that puts me at about $40.5k OTD for the actual new truck itself, without considering the trade-in (other than its affect on sales tax).

Side note: Mine also had the homelink rearview mirror which was unexpected. I thought those only came with the Pros? My old 2019 with Premium didn't have it anyway! I was going to get it separately, so by having it on the truck already that is $200 or so in my favor too.

So it looks like I can cross off the homelink mirror as a mod already as well!

Really nice savings! Looking forward to seeing how the build comes together. I love the 4R wheels and am especially looking forward to seeing those go on. Are you going to stick with the 2020 grille? Personally I think they're the best OEM grille and possibly the best grille available.

Yes, I think I'm going to stick with the stock 2020 grille. I like it and don't really want to mess it with both the radar and the camera being attached to it. Debating on if I'm going to put the "raptor" lights in it or not though.
