I'm in the DFW area and I'm planning on getting a first gen (2004) when my car sells, I'll want to add a couple things to it like a new radio, lift kit, etc. Right now I don't have enough time to work on it myself, so do you guys know anyone in the DFW area that I could trust to do the work on a first gen? Thanks!

Smith Offroad in Addison or Tandem in FW. I prefer Smith Offroad though.

However i can install a radio for cheaper than any shop. I have do this for a few guys now. I can also do speakers and amps if you want that. I also have an audio build page if you want to check it out.

Lift kits are also pretty easy, you can probably just meet up with a few guys on a weekend an knock it out.

Check out our DFW group thread. Im sure there are people there that can help with the lift or make recommendations.

    Ashley,
I was new to the Tacoma world also. I have been following your posts on the DFW thread and seeing the trucks you are interested in.
There are lots of folks in DFW that cam/will help ya. I got in over my head on a front suspension upgrade. Fortunately I was talking to a couple of guys on the days leading up to the actual swap.
I sent a message to one of them @Suprajim54 and he came over that day around lunch and stayed with me till 8:30 pm that night to finish.

This forum has plenty of those folks that will help ya out at the drop of a hat if they can.

    Great people here for sure.

Good luck on your quest to find that "just right for you" truck.

I also wanted to tell you this. I cant find the post to reply. I remember you saying something to the effect of flying out to buy it and driving it back.

I'm old, and so I have been there and done that. I cant warn you enough against that. People sell cars all the time that 4 pictures on the internet DO NOT fully represent what you think you are getting.

Remember that it's not only WHAT THEY SAY..... but its WHAT THEY DONT SAY that can mean more.

Stay semi local. Buy from a person/dealership that is reputable. Your character means everything in business.

Never do business with shadyness. You may get a good deal, but those good deals will never make up for that one big rip off.

Just today got new shoes for the taco. 17” SR8 and falken wildpeak atw3 275/70/70 on my pro. For everyone that says 275/285 will fit with no rubbing are retarted. Cut plastic, heated fender wells and reshaped and still rubbing. Just ordered a cab mount relocation kit. Where in dfw can I get this done?
