Can the tail gate be opened while the tonneau is closed?

Yes. You can open the tailgate while the cover remains closed and locked.

Does anyone has this cover in the aluminum color and pictures to share?

The aluminum is hideous, nobody has it.

(sorry to the 4 people here who have it :hattip:)

I'm thinking of replacing the OEM tri-fold cover that came on my 2017 TRD-OR (DCSB) with the Diamondback SE like yours. I occasionally pick up a couple of bales of hay and right now can easily haul them by just folding up the OEM tri-fold. What is the size of the aft panel on the Diamondback? Which is another way of asking how much room I would have between the tailgate and the center piece of the diamondback if I pop the struts off and fold the aft panel all the way forward and tie it down? Thanks.

What rack are you using and how is it mounted? Are the mounts for the rack going around the diamondback?

I suppose it's like buying a Tacoma. The dealer knows what he's selling and doesn't have to budge on the price. Sorry, Boricua.

I hear ya! However, I shopped numerous dealerships for the BEST price and all of them were willing to beat the competitors prices on my truck. Not too good of an example- Lol

Didn't have time to read the whole thread so apologies if this is redundant, but @eccracer104 is often able to offer a discount on Auto Anything if that site carries the cover you want. He hooked up me up with a great deal on my Undercover.

My set up is right at 250...to that point this past take off for winter storage I took my RTT off separate from my rack. Still a simple one person operation.

I am running a voodoo rack with tonneau attachment. The tonneau mounts go under and around the diamondback. Fairly cool set up. Lots of threads and pics out there in TW. I can post a few if need.

Thanks for that. I don't need the links, thanks. I believe I've seen that mount on their website, sort of a U bracket that goes out and over.

I measured it with the rear hatch flipped over. It takes about 10 seconds total to remove an end of each of the hydraulic lifts and flip the hatch completely over. Suggest you put a towel or such under the hatch to protect the locking mechanism from scratches and then tie down the hatch using the cleats on the rear and front hatches.

Here are some pics: (23", but technically 21.5" where the hydraulic arm support is)

Thanks very much for that, and for taking the trouble of making the photos.

I read several of the reviews and looked at other brands. I chose this model because it works well for what I use it for - I like the simplicity. I do not leave anything suspended on mine - I just use it to put on and take off my rack/tent. Hope that helps. I am not pushing this product - someone noticed it in my pic of my Diamondback and conversation has gone from there.
