    Update on my rear seat cubby storage solution

    Started with this

    Milled the upper piece , added a 5/16" stainless through bolt to register the axe handle

    Milled the lower piece , it needed to be rabbetted to span over the shelf support remnants

    I fixed these pieces through the back of the cubby inserts with #8 x 3/4" screws and fender washers

    I put the screws where I could cover them back up with the backing insulation so that they wouldn't rattle against the mounting surfaces

    That left me with this

    I built a toolbox that would fit the countour of the storage area under the axe

    Still waiting on Quickfists for the final axe mounts and an ARB Compact Recovery bag that fits to the left of the tool box

    I'm assuming the seat back holds the lid to the tool box closed when in place.

    Any plans for a latch of sorts for it?

    Looks really good, man. I like organization :D I have yet to find a solution to the things behind my seat moving around a bit on me.

    The lid stays closed on it's own but I might add a rare earth magnet

    wow!!! about all i can say about the workmanship on the cubby stuff... wish i had that type of skill. looks fantastic. are you going to finish the wood any way? like stain or paint or maybe cover with carpet or fabric?? im quite interested in seeing what route you take on that...... think a nice stain could make it look magnificent.
