    @scocar

    I have a Relentless tailgate protector. When I got my shell, I had the same issues. Most of the time only one side would latch when I closed the window but a few times I had to close each side separately. After a few weeks it went away and hasn't been back since. I know my shell sat unused for quite a while, so even though I cleaned and lubed the latches I think they just needed to loosen up.

    I also have a minor water leak somewhere, I'm assuming it's at the top of the rear window somewhere in the middle, but I haven't had time to sit in the bed with the shell closed up and pretend it's raining to see what is happening and why.

    I found that the rear main door seal at top center was loose with soil inside the gap. When I investigated further, I realized the starting point for this failure is the goddman dome/brake wires run under the seal and coming out at one point. I'll redo all that when I get it painted, and put a new seal on. Also, the bottom ends the the main seal are cut at angles exactly opposite of what the should to match the fucking top of the tailgate, creating a gap where they should be closing it. I hope the replacement seal is longer than needed and I can trim it to fit as it should be.

    Good info. What's the seal run for your shell?

    No clue. I'll ask the local dealer. He's been really helpful, yakked it up with him and his son. He checked out the serial number and said he actualy sold this cap to the original owner in 08. LOL. He set me up with replacement keys, a piece of the locking latch system that had fallen out (common issue on this model), the dome/brake light harness (the part for the truck-side connections), and a new twist knob for one of the side windows all for about $40.

    It's true. Without you guys, we'd have nowhere to put the DEW line and we'd be stuck with only Kardashians for entertainment.

    But at the going rate of .75 to 1, I'm thinking of buying a few more Kanucks to stash in my rainy day fund.

    Smart man. So what is your pickling recipe, or do you freeze-dry them?

    I've been looking at the Relentless tailgate reinforcement. I want the aluminum, but I don't like how reusing the stock torx panhead screws creates a snaggy obstacle course for sliding stuff in and tearing stuff like bags of readi-mix and whatnot..

    So, I'm going to take a look at sourcing some flathead screws of the right spec that can be countersunk to be flush, the see if either Eric is willing to do specified countersink holes for me and powder coat, and if not, I may take it bare, countersink them myself, then rattlecan, likely with bedliner.

    So I don't have a raw aluminum lip hanging out from under my cap door and oxidizing over time and looking ghetto.
