Well at least he doesn't have to continue attacking the cowardly dealership that didn't do work for free (how dare they)

The "fix" is redesigning the A/C system from the ground up. Like I had posted, it's just an odd quirk of the 3rd gen A/C system.

It's not a problem, it does not indicate anything will prematurely fail, it is merely the fact that the flow of refrigerant through some part of the system causes a harmonic effect.

Your states lemon laws are in your owners manual. It is a booklet all by itself. Just have to email or call toyota Corp to start but there has to be "fair and reasonable" time for fix and it has to be there 3 times for the same issue.

Ya the AC solution doesn't seem to be a true fix. I have decided I'm going to do a full fluid service around 3k miles.

I am hoping that fresh diff and trans fluid can help out with the noise. I will post updates when I do that. I'm around 1500 miles right now

From my perspective it definitely sounds like the trans. It's when I want more power or am shifting that I get the noise, and the engine seems to be running fine (Scanned with a Blue driver and the live data seems fine).

Low fluid can cause a lot of issues, so that is something I still want to rule out

Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone! That in itself is super helpful

Why not do the flushes now? if you're so concerned about it being driveline related another 1,500 miles could screw it up worse to the point where new fluids may not fix it...

Was buying a 2005 Sequoia brand new...this was back in the days when you could take a vehicle home overnight before you signed for it. Transmission was acting funny, making grinding noises, and hard down shifting. Swapped the truck out for a different one that had no issues and signed the paperwork. My how times change.

I didn’t hear anything unusual. Report back at 5000 miles.

I seriously doubt fluid changes will have any bearing on what your complaint is. Toyota has been know to use long lasting high quality fluids in their vehicles. Unless some joker decided to fill your transmission with milk, i'd be looking elsewhere what your hearing.

I'm not saying it's the wrong fluid. I'm saying it could be low.

I've seen other posts of people checking their trans fluid on a brand new Tacoma and it was around 0.3 quarts low.

It's not gunna destroy the trans right away, but it definitely won't be operating properly with the wrong amount of fluid. I am checking this since it's something easy to check

Rentals in general are in short supply. I dropped mine off in April and they barely got a rental car (Chevy Malibu) from the place around the corner (Enterprise). They said they could get a truck but would take at least a week to do so..it ended up working out my wife drove the Malibu (heated seats) for several weeks and once I got her situated to where I could leave the house without her I got a truck about 5 weeks after

I seem to be having the same or a similar noise with my 4-week old TRD DCLB. It started about a week ago. For me, the noise mostly starts to occur 22 mph and higher. I did notice that when slightly turning the wheels while driving, the noise does get louder.
Additionally, the front passenger spring (sounds like it's the spring to me) seems to be making a lot of creaking when the truck is going over bumps, pulling into a driveway or parking lot from the street. Even when the truck is parked and the engine off, I can stand on the step tube by the front passenger door and make the noise. This noise also started happening within the last week. It is so loud, I can hear it over my music inside the cab. I have an appointment scheduled for next Saturday.

Last year i had a crazy squeak coming from somewhere in the firewall section of the cab...drove me nuts every time it got below freezing temps. Finally located the same squeak by accident when readjusting the articulating tilt steering wheel. Nothing a heathy spray of silicon lube up there couldn't cure. To this day no more squeak. Initially i had a dirty/eratic door switch causing the hazard led to warn me a door was still open. Was going to call the dealer, but decided just as easy to remove the switch, and spray with deoxit electrical contact cleaner. Switch has been ok since.
