I'll make this quick. So I "haggled" with about 10 dealers, through email, over a 3 week period when buying my 2017 Quicksand Tacoma Off Road DCSB 4x4 AT in April. The dealers were in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. I had a flight credit I had to use by August so I was able to extend my search area.

I just want to know if I got a good deal or not. I believe I did, but I wanted to see what you all thought. So I ended up flying out to St. Louis and paying $33,492 for my truck. This does not include tax. My truck just has the Tow package, All weather floor liners and seals, and the 5" Black Tube steps. I spent about $150 on gas and energy drinks for the trip home and airport parking. Soooo...was all the haggling i did worth it?

I am not going to post my Bill of Sale to prove what I paid because I don't want any of my personal info on here and I don't know if the dealer would want me to do that either. Sorry, you just have to believe me.

(A dealer in Oklahoma actually offered me $33,292. That truck came with predator steps, truck bed cargo lights, liners and seals, and tow pak. I didn't feel good about this dealer though. Red flag went up and I said screw the savings.)

If you're happy with what you paid for the truck, then yes you got a good deal.

Sounds like you did just fine. I also flew to get my new truck but it was a 25 minute flight and a 3 hour drive home. It was a fantastic day indeed!

I did not trade in anything, I paid in full. I spent 10 years breaking my back for the Army and destroying all meaningful relationships I ever had to be able to do this. It wasn't worth it. But hey, at least I got a tan truck!!! lol

Give us the MSRP plus any dealer fees, and what you paid, minus taxes, title, and tag costs and it is easy to tell if you got a good deal from that.

Wont beat my 21k (23.5 with TTL)! Granted you got more truck, but still.... I think I did pretty well right out of basic.

....if only I could've gotten a better deal on my student loans...

Bought my 40 K truck for 30K, is this a good deal?
I think you got a great price, and if you're happy with it, that's the ONLY thing that matters. Strangers saying you did well does nothing for me.

enjoy it, I got a SR5 DCSB 4x4 last year and love it. I paid 34k out the door with a 15 year old CRV on its last leg as a trade... don't listen to the negative nannies on this website...if you are happy then great and the dealer still has to make money right? they are in business...

In my opinion, the money saved is not even remotely worth the time and effort in my opinion. So no, not a good deal.

You saved $4k from what I paid and all I did was call around to see which dealer within 20 minutes of my house had the truck I wanted. It took 2 days to get the exact truck I wanted once I was committed to the purchase and I was done and home within 2 hours.

I guess it just comes down to what your time is worth to you.

You paid 4k more for the same configuration as him?? Holy hell. If you have the money to burn and are happy with it that's all good, not judging you there.

I took the emailing dealers over several weeks route and flying one state over to pick it up and drive it back. It took minimal effort to email dealers, I just sat back in a chair with a beer and wrote some emails. Flying was nothing and the dealer picked me up from the airport and I was out in a couple hours.

Wish I could say a few days trouble isn't worth saving 4k for me...

Your sig says you have a GMC. Different market, they come down in price from MSRP quite a bit on those. If you got that on a Tacoma that is great though!
