Did your new TRD 4x4 come with Owner's Manual jacket (holder / pouch)

Hi,

I picked up my 2007 Access cab 4x4 TRD Sport about 10 days ago from the Toyota dealership in Harrisburg, PA. The sales woman informed me that the Tacoma's did not come with the glovebox retainer owner's manual jacket / pouch / holder. She said Toyota factory did not furnish one for the Tacomas. Is this true? Or is she blowing smoke because this Taco was a floor model and they cannot find one....

To me this is a BS. I spent well over $25k and they do not even give you a lousy, stinkin' owner manual (OM) jacket to hold all the books into one convenient jacket ???

Did you guys get the OM jacket when you picked up your new Tacoma? This is really pissing me off !! She handed me the reading material in a yellow business envelope.....

 

I've got the leather-ish jacket for the owners manual. Mine was even a floor model. It wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me, but this is up to you.

 

I've got a TRD Sport I bought from New Holland Toyota (PA) and I've got the owners manual in the 'leather like pouch' thingy that zips closed.

Not to mention - mine also came with the first aide kit.

 

Mine is a very nice suede leather cover trimmed out in full grain leather and they had my name embossed on the inside of the back cover in gold leaf. The corners are protected with copper sleeves and the certain pages that contained pertinent information were marked with braided silk.

 

No, it was not a deal breaker as I did pick up the truck 10 days ago. But the way the sales woman informed me that Tacos do not come with the "leather-ish" looking pouch. I am going to ask for one since they will be sending me customer satisfaction survey soon.

But to answer the original quesion yes i got a leatherish pouch that hold all my manuals and paperwork

 

Now I really feel that I have been short changed despite the saleswoman's plea that the my Tacoma did not come with the "leatherish" looking portfolio holder. She said she would "BUY" me one just to prove that she did not lied to me. I do not know how to take this, whether to believe her or not. Right now I just put all the paperwork in a brown envelope in the glovebox, but it does not look cool...... Worst case scenario, I will just have to learn to live with it, I guess,,,,,, dang !

 

I got some sort of plastic type holder for my OM...dunno...but it says Toyota on it, so I can only presume it came from them...

 

LOL!!! Preferred customer treatment. Mine didn't have the leathery thing, but did come with a naked hot chick that sits on my lap and reads to me whatever I request from the owner's manual...........She has a TRD Offroad tatt just above her backside.

Mine came with a POS plastic folder. But whatever, I didn't think a manual would come in some fancy leather case anyway. Now I am jealous and want one. Anybody want to trade?

 

I bought my tuck from Bobby Rahal in Mechanicsburg. I tried to deal with two dealers in Harrisburg and it was a waste of my time. My truck came with the nice zippered leather-like pouch in the glove box and not only did it include an owners manual but also a warranty booklet and a maintenance log book, all from Toyota. I think you got screwed.

I don't think it is included from the factory, but it is something most dealers will include because they can get them in bulk for next to nothing. It is not exclusive to the Tacoma, it is the same leather pouch my wife has in 07 Camry. Dealer preference; sounds like a penny pinching dealership, hope you got a great deal!
