Is there any differences in the 1st gen taco transfer cases?

I have a transfer case from a 99 2.7 auto 4x4, that I would like to keep for a spare for my 98 3.4 5sp 4x4.. are the transfer cases the same?

If they are different? Do you know what the differances are? is it just a gear ratio, or will it just not work at all like the cases or input shafts are different?
