So the PreRunner's extra 5 inches just come from the 245 tires and 16" wheels?

Are there more leafs in the back or longer shocks in the front?

That's what I was originally trying to clarify. I don't want to know if the PreRunners are better off road...
I want to know what makes it that way exactly?

I beg to differ. My 11 year old 2006 4Runner Limited 4x4 is worth 10x that "junk-beater". Fact-check me! Plus, it's a unicorn. By that, I mean it only has 84k miles, headlights are still crystal clear, paint is still glossy, rides well, no rattles, lifetime XM subscription, etc. etc. Unicorn because you can't find one to buy like it with that few miles and with as many factory options. Nobody including myself is willing to part with them. The 5th gen is just too boxy and hideous. 3rd gen and 4th gen ('03-'09) look the best to me.

Agreed on the loss risk. I hate to park my 4Runner in the Walmart parking lot.
