This is on my 2020 Tacoma

New 4.88 Gears from East Coast. Install going great until I notice a difference on the front clamshells.

The East Coast has an extra through hole thats not on the OEM case. The Oem case also has what looks like an oil slinger of sorts that was not in the East Coast where the Add Motor Bolts.

So, Any thoughts as East Coast is closed. Initial thought is a short bolt if I could find one or have East Coast Get me one ASAP.

For the Oil Slinger Item, Should that be removed and installed in the new East Coast of is that not needed???

    Any help is appreciated.

    OEM Clamshell - No hole

Also see the oil slinger / retainer behind where the stub shaft goes... Does this need swapped??

Any help would be so much appreciated.

    Thanks,

So the thread pitch was a M14 x 1.50 with a narrowing taper. Googled and found that the oversize oil plug pitch as well.

$3.00 at Advance and I was back at it.

Also figured out that the shield had 2 fins that keep oil from going up the breather tube. So I figured I should place it as it fit to the same depth as the OEM clamshell.

Hope this averted a dead stop .
