As someone else mentioned, your back and neck def hurts now. Go to the Dr. and be sure to let them know you're going. And honestly, you could be in pain down the road so you may be entitled to a settlement. Stay safe out there

I rear ended an old Camry couple years ago cause she stopped soon as the light turned yellow.
Well, she got out the car, walked around, then when the ambulance got there she refused a ride to get checked out.
A week later I got a notice that she was claiming back pains and ended up getting $25,000.
    That's ALOT of Mods...

Just keep in mind that this is "their" tool. That tool is very controversial with the legal community and I would never advise one to accept that for basically a new truck, but it is a good starting place. In the end you know your plans for the truck. If you plan on driving it ten years then this figure doesn't matter as much. Just make sure that you have no accident related issues before you sign any waiver. Sometimes it takes weeks to fully realize that you have some residual health issues from the wreck. There is no hurry to get that final check but in the end you are best suited to know the number that makes you feel ok about this. Best of luck.

Some will offer it but you need to demand it, not ask for it.

Then you simply had lousy repair work done.

There is no reason a well repaired vehicle should rust any faster than a stock one.

Update. Got offered $27,000 on trade in. KBB is between $30,300 and $33,000. Countered with insurance at $5k based on that. Hypothetically.

I got rear ended today. The truck is not even two months old. I installed Expedition One Rear Bumper just last week.

Looks like the bumper barely got a scratch. The bumper brackets attached to the frame seem to have tilted down. Should be an easy fix. He did get into the tailgate just a little

But with the stock bumper it would have been much much worse. The stock bumper is garbage. It might as well be made out of paper.

If that's ONLY the Diminished Value Claim payout, then that's fair.

My car was totaled last year. I did my own research and gathered my own sources. I waited to get presented with an offer which wasn't actually too far off to my surprise, but i provided evidence and calculations, they put me on hold for 15 minutes then came back with almost $2k more.

Here’s what you do......(My friend has his own State Farm agency.

    @cseigh

    1) Issue a diminished value claim. (Which you have obviously done)

    2) Go to the Toyota dealership you bought the truck from and see what they give you as trade value Vs what trade value is without a wrecked truck. Let’s say KBB is 33,000.00 for a non wrecked truck and they are only offering you 29,000.00. The diminished value would be 4,000.00!

    3) Turn down 1st offer and tell them the number Toyota dealership is taking off VS what it should be. Add 1,000.00 to whatever the number it turns out to be. In the secenerio above, that would be 5,000.00!

He says he has actually seen companies turn around and Total a vehicle out as they didn’t want to pay the diminished amount. Or they will actually give you what you are asking for.

GTFO with that kind of crap. We collectively all have to pay for BS claims like that via increased rates.

need to learn more about this stuff
I was in an accident over 8 months ago when my truck had less than 2000 miles on it and was less than 3 months old. The guy was uninsured.
    2 questions
Can I get diminished value from my insurance?
Can I make a claim now after it has been awhile?

    I’m in California
