I can shut my DTRLs off and on with the stalk in my 2013 I thought the 12s were the same?

Nope. On 2012 you either have DRL on when truck in is Drive or you don't have them at all, one or the other.

2013's you can turn them on or off with the stalk. No option on 2012 stalk.

Thank God for this Thread. I'll start a new thread with my comments to my experience using this thread including the one referenced reverse engineering a DRL install.

I bought the Toyota jumper and an improved flasher relay from Diode Dynamics for tap flashing and programmable hazard strobe lights before unbolting the fuse block.

This thread allowed me to upgrade to LED turn signals without adding resistors to prevent hyper-blinking. Nine years ago when this thread was originated I don't think there were LED turn signals. I really like the tap trailing turn signal for lane changes and the Hazard Strobe Lights are cool. Thanks again.

Not sure what the GM part number is, but the Toyota part number from my 2014 owners manual is: 4157NAK. (front turn signal/parking/DRL natural amber) Same PN for the Sylvania lamp. Note: the "K" is not on the Sylvania package, but it is printed on the wedge base of the bulb. I heard it stands for "Krypton" (gas), supposedly to extend the life of the bulb and or run cooler. When I had to replace mine: these were the bulbs that were in the truck. (not sure if they were OEM) I don't see any heat issues with the plastic on my truck.

There is a discrepancy between the wattage shown in the owner's and the bulb package: 27/8 watts in the manual, 28.5/12.8 watts on the package.

Same as above on my 2014. I think they also have some other logic where they only come on when you shift into drive, and then don't out again regardless of
the shift position until you turn the truck off.
