    Searched, but found nothing...

So, has anyone disabled the little lights by the automatic shifter? The Park, Reverse, neutral, etc. At night, they seem to be overly bright in peripheral vision, and reflect quite a bit off the window.

If so, is there a write up, or would it be fairly simple? Maybe a plug that can be pulled?

looks like you can just pop the shifter/boot off and remove console piece and pull the plug to the lights:

I had this exact problem. Another member on here put me onto these. Bought a sheet, cut to fit. Worked awesome.

I got a similar product from Amazon ages ago for a really obnoxious alarm clock I had. Worked great, but kept falling off.

Dimmed mine down with silver vinyl I had laying around.

Illuminates about as bright as any other switch on the dash.

Do you think the semi-transparent masking tape would work similarly? Or do those lights get too hot?

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I used the lightdims. Great product, and cheap. No residue left behind, if you want to remove it.

    Should work about the same.
I wouldn't worry about heat, it won't get that warm in there.

I would only be concerned about any residue that might get left behind should you choose to remove it. But Goo Gone should be able to take care of that.

I'd think even slipping in a piece of plain white paper would diffuse it a good bit.
    Worth a shot...

White electrical tape works well too.

Understood. I wasn't too concerned as it shows in the center display of the instrument cluster too.

I would ask the local tint shop for scraps of tint in different percentages. They'll have scraps of it in the trash bin. I noticed the glare at night also when not driving in the city. I even turn of the NAV display.
Stick that under the console shift indicator.

I thought about that, but I think the light assembly is part of the console piece that you can take out.
