Hi I’m new here and own a 2022 Tacoma trd. I don’t want or need the emergency remote tracking and wifi services that’s in the DCM module. I called Toyota service department who told me they don’t work on those.

I have issues with migraines that wifi and electronics exacerbate.

I read that someone disconnected a fuse but can’t determine which fuse powers the DCM/safety connect service or where it’s located.

Has anyone been successful removing the DCM or at least powering it down?

Perhaps this will have the info you're looking for:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/stop-toyota-tracking-you.649519/

    Or:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/in-case-anyone-is-interested.752429/

Also, try the Search Function to find lots more on this topic.
Try searching for "DCM fuse" (the fuse is in the Fuse Box under the hood, labeled 'DCM').

No one asks, and if we disable more than the DCM and accidently affect something safety related we can be held accountable. People are nuts.

I think it should be easier to disable, on day #1, but this isn't a normal question at a dealer.

There's no "dedicated" fuse for the DCM.:burp:
    Edit: My bad:facepalm:, there is.
Does anyone know where I can find the truck's 3G/LTE module?
Also, you loose the Right Hand tweeter AND microphone if juice is removed.:burp:

I don't have the connector (D38) part number to find the mating side or the terminals (pins) it uses.

    For the microphone:
    upload_2023-3-7_22-42-4.jpg
With the smallest Posi-taps, you could recover the microphone also. From IN1, which as the driver's side "sail panel", you'd add the Posi-taps to the wires and run them to R49 at the head unit. I don't have the part numbers for the terminals it requires. They might be 025.

Another option to "recover" the microphone:
    upload_2023-3-9_12-56-4.jpg
T-harness on IN1 to add missing wires to R49 at Head Unit. Still need the terminal part #'s for it.(R49)
    upload_2023-3-7_23-23-1.jpg
Spoke with Andrew, from Anytimerearcamera, to see the possibility of getting one made. At least the mating part from the head unit with unterminated wire ends to IN1.

Did you have Toyota disable their data collection services?

Beyond that, as pointed out, disabling features can be a dangerous game.

Different take here, but if it’s the wifi signal that gets you, might take steps to mitigate the signal. Get a gadget that tests signal strength and test in different parts of the truck. Try to pinpoint where the signal is the strongest, and take steps to “faraday” cage that area.

Won’t be easy, but provides a reversible method of mitigating your issues.

Oh? Based on what? It's a paid service. Show us the fine print...:burp:
Another way to stop info gathering would be to disconnect the antenna connections to the DCM.

If vehicle has Nav Module, it has it's own connection to GPS antenna.

“Features” might not have been the best word to use. I’m more going for the safety aspect. If you start pulling fuses, snipping wires, are you confident in not compromising the safety of your vehicle?

If you have the wiring diagrams then yes, it’s fairly simple to see what is affected by pulling fuses or snipping wires.

And my truck has a sticker stating how to contact Toyota to disable their data collection. Won’t stop a physical signal, but it’s something.
