all the hardcore defenders act offended like someone kicked their grandpa in the dick. I don't get it.

Others have, but I haven't, said that the entire quality has gone down. I'm dissatisfied (the name of the thread) with 3-4 specific defects with my truck. And I get flamed with "BAH! go try a Dakota then! BAH!"

chill the eff out, post your dissapointments if you have any, or get the eff out.

    IMHO

aside from the ac chirp and windshield noise(which i have never experienced?) sounds like dealer issues. I have had my a/c fan replaced 3 times now and it's doing it again...

It's also $32,000. And I'm comparing the quality to their quality in the past.

Agreed, that's why I bought one...and I'm keeping it, dispite the things. I have experienced, which I have stated are all minor fixes and have been taken care of.

I can respect that. My family and I have always purchased new so we could get the exact setup we want. Why settle for what someone else selected. They got rid of it for a reason.

Customer service takes it for me though, Its not the dealerships fault of the quality of parts being made, They are just there to sell the vehicle. Unfortunely they take the wrap quite often for small things like tire pressure because some monkey didnt take the time to check them, That being said be glad it was all covered and fixed without problem it sounds like. No car manufacturer is perfect. Toyota is still the number one selling car company out there so they must be doing something right.

I gotta say that I love how my 2010 tacoma looks. I think the design is the best out of all the small trucks. I love my truck but as far as them making it fit well and parts, it sucks. Really sucks.

I have never seen a paint on a a vehicle chip and scratch so easly. I mean I can like take my finger and scratch it. My tailgate is starting to rust on the coners where it closes and only havs 12,000 on it.

    2. The body lines and bumpers dont even match up. They have gaps in them and looks like they just quickly put them up. I was floored when i saw that.

3 The tailgate sucks lol. Its so weak I cant even put my hand toolbox and my 40lbs dog on it without bending.

so yes there is a few things i hate about it but every truck and car is gonna have something wrong with it. i gotta say I'm really mad about those things but i love my taomca. I wouldnt trade it in for any other truck. I know it will last forever. it a toyota. My whole family has a toyota. Mom has a rav 4, sis a 4 runner, me a tacoma and dad a tundra. we all love our toyota and you guys should to.

I bought new to not have someone elses mistakes and miles. Financing for a Taco with 100kmiles and financing for a Taco with 0 miles panned out to the same $/Month

To OP: Quit bitching. You sound like my ex girlfriend. Thanks haha

Those don't sound like major issues.. I've never struggled filling my tires with air..

Did you test drive the truck on the highway and hear the whistling/ticking?..

I drove it, but the whiste only happened over 80 (ie speeding). The tick came about around 500 miles.

Air isn't an issue, but for it to come that way is kinda effed up. And a screwed up alignment...really...it's freaking new.

This is where a bunch of people on this site are confused. I've seen a lot of people make the same flawed argument. The 30k TRDs are the exact same truck as the 17k base models aside from options. Same body panels, same screws, same blower motors, same steering wheel, same plastic fasteners, same frame, same wiring, same engines, same moldings, same seals, etc. You're paying an extra $15k for extra rows of seats, more doors, suspensions, paint, chrome, cameras etc, most of which I rarely see people have issues with.

You didn't buy a $32k truck you bought a $17k truck with a bunch of added shit that's marked up like hell.

I see where you're coming from.. It would be frustrating to have to deal w/ those problems from a brand new truck.. but lets remember nobody is perfect, and cars are made by people..

But by saying "are toyota customers really putting up with kind of quality", is insulting to me and every other toyota owner. It sounds like you went back to the dealership bitched them out, and took care of it. Just like I would have done.

For toyota to "change their ways" we would all need to boycott their cars, and I dont see anyone doing that anytime soon because others cars still dont meet their quality.. yes?

Every vehicle has their own issues now. Even the new high end vehicles. My moms new 2012 Acura TL Type S had power window issues the first week. The heck?

If its things that can be fixed and not major. Nothing to worry about. Factories will not make vehicles like they use to. Restrictions, cost, etc. It is the way it is now. I wish they just say F it, use lead paint and not that water base junk.

This is what happens when all you look at is the cost PER MONTH. You have to price it over the LIFETIME of the loan. Just because two people both pay $350/month for one 100k mile used truck and one brand new truck doesn't mean they pay the same. The used loan would be shorter (say 3 years versus the new 5-6), maybe new put a lot of money down, etc...

In the end, the moral is, NEVER [and I mean never] negotiate on payments, negotiate on final price (out the door) and hammer the payment plan out at the end.

    [New]
    IE: $350/month for 5 years = $21,000
    + Down payment of $15,000
    = $36,000 (Out the door w/ Interest)

    Or

    [Used]
    $350/month for 3 years = $12,600
    + Down payment of $15,000
    = $27,600 (Out the door w/ Interest)
