    OP, bummer.

i think you will be fine from this point forward. of course, you will find other issues.

getting a new truck with very low tire PSI is retarded..you would think someone would check. you know give it a once over prior to handing over the keys.

all the issues are minor, but damn annoying. i bought used, and had less issues.

It's not that my first gen was better, I think the taco is awesome. I'm Not even disappointed that the TSB ISSUES CAME UP. what bothers me, is that I got a truck from the factory with alignment issues and deflated tires. Granted, the dealer should have caught this, but the factory built the truck the same month I bought it. The tires were shipped deflated. Kinda BS when you are PAYING for the upgraded rims and tires, no?

I have had toyotas since early 70s & beat the shit out of an 82 truck for 25 yrs/500k miles and it still had none of the silly shit associated with todays. Imagine my dismay that they had sunk to big 3 levels when "stepping up" in 2009. You won't get much understanding here since most are too young to remember when toyota actually was making a rep instead of riding on one. Tacomas are, however, still the least shitty of the shit out there for the money nowadays....kinda like politicians, none are really that good, you just have to figure out which one will be least crappy of the bunch. Lovin the 08 compared to the other choices..............

    Hilarious.
You see so many defenders, why do people take their Toyota purchases so personally?
It's like the label and the image is who you are....

Accept the fact that Toyota vehicles are overrated and the post above making excuses based on the recession?...unbelievable.
These vehicles were designed and engineered in 2002-2004.
No excuses for the lameass wheels, bumpers, frames, radios, springs, fuel doors, TO bearings, blower motors, TPMS sensors...my head is starting to hurt.
I'm pretty sure most people buy Toyota for the styling and find out about the shortcomings later.

My 2010 is perfect after 30,000 miles it rates up there with my 2001 in quality. My 2005 had some issues, but I am glad I stayed with the Tacoma for 2010. Sounds like you got a rare lemon truck and dealer to boot. Contact Toyota corporate office!

    Yeah but your 82 .....

Had Solid axle on the front which we all know is very dangerous and makes people rollover truck and not as some claim "speed and bad driving is cause of rollovers".

Did not had IFS which makes ride to America's malls more comfortable.

Did not had Bluetooth connection for your iCr@p phone so you can connect with your facebook friends while parking in the mall.

Did not had like 1000 cup holders strategically positioned to accept Starbucks Grande Mocha Cappuccino because we all know thermos full of cofee and cup screwed on the top is grandfather thing.

Did not had ABS with out which we all now its not possible to stop vehicle on the road and any vehicle with out it. is a death trap. Our forefathers used their feet like Flintstones to control braking, phi so lame

Did not had VSC with out which vehicle is quadruple death trap because as we all know VSC is required to keep vehicle on the road other wise truck will skid uncontrollably on the way to the mall, then crash into the nearest object and explode killing everybody in the neighborhood. Lack of VSC could also end life as we know.

Did not had ATRAC which is Da Best traction aid and only one that uses brakes to make you going, because as we all know when you need to slow down from whatever ATRAC helps you climb, VSC and ABS will kick in to save you so who needs breaks.

Did not had TPMS which is the only way to know that your tire pressure had dropped by 1 psi and now you are in desperate need of new tires, oil change, car wash and computer reset.

Did not had auto transfer case which can be operated with out spilling Mocha Cappuccino or putting down iCr@p phone.

I can continue but you get the drift. Your 82 was dangerous killing machine and you should be happy you are now saved by government, flower power children and Toyota Motor company

To OP stop complaining those defects are "safety improvements" because if vehicle can not be driven then Toyota had achieved 100% safety.
    /sarcasm
    :D

    My 82.......

Had IFS because I made it a prerunner.

Never cared about malls or go to them.

Did have aux input for playing music off phone or mp3 players.

Got me , only 2 cupholders on the universal rubbermaid console squeezed in between the buckets. No to-go coffee mugs, sorry.

Yes had flintstone non-ABS brakes that worked every time.

The VSC/ATRAC was having tread on the tires and a brain that knew the limits of the thing in any/all conditions - no additional electronic stuff necessary.

The 82 was a dangerous crash survival money making machine.

    Prerunners don't has transfer cases.

Broke ass hi tech < low tech tankability. The government has never saved me from anything. I could continue too but you get the drift. Different era, different animals, different costs, different maintenance needs, different initial quality & durability.:D

    Hold on,

You bought a truck and your mad because it makes noise? "Loud" injectors, "loud" AC compressor etc WTF?

It's not a lexus! How did you leave the lot with your TPS light on? I would of had that fixed before I left?

I don't see anything wrong with your truck
