Yeah but that makes you old fart living in the past. :D
This is a new age of modern cars, even DMV is starting to move with times and now will include real life questions on the driver tests

You are speeding uncontrollably down the highway, and get text message from Jenna that Kim Kardasian twitted new "like: thing". What do you do.

    A. Call your soul mate and ask him to provide a photo of said Twit.

    B. Text Jenna back that you dont like Kim because she did not save the kittens

    C. Let go of steering wheel, connect over 4G update your Facebook status to unavailable.

What dealer in South Florida are you using? Make sure you get the TSB done on the steering... I had mine done at Kendall Toyota.

I have a 2011 TRD Sport DC 4x4 loaded. Personally I am very disappointing in the quality of Toyota and will not be buying another. I thought I was buying a quality vehicle and didn't mind paying the premium for the supposed Toyota = quality name. The only good thing so far has been this board.

It began making more noise the more I drove it. I'm cool with it now. As for the TPMS light, it wasn't on. I guess that's another thing I have to have checked that I completely overlooked. Thank you. FML

I actually love the truck. Compared to the competition, it's an obvious choice. I'd still buy another, but I'm bringing a list of TSB's that are going to be done before I even pick up the truck and test drive it.

That's pretty much how they fixed it. Toyota did pay to have a repairman come to my home and fix it. I gotta give em that one.

How's that whistling windshield? The reason I ask I that I also just bought a 2011 Tacoma. It has 1,600 miles on it. I never heard the windshield whistling but last night I discovered the seal along the bottom of the windshield in front of the driver was loose. I took it back to the dealer today and they said it needs a new seal. They ordered it and will put it in tomorrow.

I had a 1994 Camry that never gave me any major problems. I hope this problem on my Tacoma isn't the first of a long string of problems.

It may still make it after they replace the seal. There is a TSB out for it that tells Toyota how to fix it. They basically have to use a silicon sealant and glue the seal in place.

Just curious OP and all the others with similar complaints. Where was your truck manufactured? USA or Mexico? and what's the manufacture date? Is there some pattern here? I note that a lot of complaints are coming from Pre-runners. My 2011 Access cab TRD has had none of these issues, bought it in January and has 8500 miles now, it was made in USA.

I did have a similar experience with my '92 Silverado. Front end alignment, leaking front axle seals, and Stereo that wouldn't keep station memory. Chevy made 3 attemps to fix the latter. They had a policy to "repair" the unit and not replace it. I gave up and bought a cheap replacement.

All the seal issues (fluids not windshield) on the 05 I chalked up to first yr of the 2nd gen and moved on to an 08. Haven't had those on the 08 (knocks on wood). Both are Fremont, CA trucks, both are prerunners and both both have the shitty 3 leaf packs. It just doesn't seem to matter on the 08 reg cab like it did on the 05 access cab. Both have the magic folding non-reinforced tailgates & yes, I have heard the windshield on the 08 sing a coupla times in crazy cross/headwinds doing 75 or so. Rare occurrance but it has done it. It's come down to the same thing as when you vote - picking the least crappy of what there is to pick from. Do you want this kind of shit or would you prefer that shit over there?

Yeah, I went with the All Terrain T/A...I couldn't wait, got a nail in the sidewall of a BFG Rugged Trail and it couldn't be patched. I didn't buy the Road Hazard part of the extended plan...I still get free replacements when these wear out...

I think we all have most of those issues....I have become accustomed to these now and have actually found a lot of threads on here which have detailed information on correcting them. Definitely frustrating however given the amount these go for! Overall I love my Taco and wouldn't trade it for anything.....
