I'm about to pull the trigger on new wheels and tires. Either going with black Icon Vector 6 or KMC KM717 and then either Nitto Terra Grapplers or Wildpeaks in 265/70/r17.

So I have used Discount Tire in the past with good experience, but I also got a quote from a fairly well established local off-road shop as well. Price is pretty close. Just wondering what the TW community thinks. I like to support local small businesses when I can but I'm torn since I've had good experience with Discount Tire in the past. What do you guys think?

I tend to go with good experience.
DT has been great as a company for me, matching prices and honoring warranties. Besides, employees at DT spend their dollars locally.

DT got my tpms right so I was thrilled with them. Install my boras wheel spacers too.

$84+tax for mount and balance. Hard to beat. Those young kids look like they work hard too.

I always use Discount tires for my tire replacements and always recommend them to my family, friends and coworkers.

    Any DT use hydraulic lifts?

Mines lifted my taco with 4 floor jacks, all 4 wheels off the ground to work on my wheels.

    Any do alignments?

The DT and America Tires I've been to in the past 15 years does both (hydraulic and 4x floor jack), and none that I've been to does alignments.

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
Seems as if ' on my own here but having worked for and still involved with a local mom 'n' pop repair shop, I say use them.
They will appreciate your business much more and will likely become your best friend.
