You're very welcome. I looked under my hood at lunchtime and it should be located directly between the battery and the front end.

How about the dome lights and head lights? Was there any affect there?
    Thanks.

Ripped my instrument speaker out because of the most annoying sound in the world, the door ajar dinging!
Ok, so i had to make an account just so i could replu to lukem80. I cannot tell you the amount of stress relieved in just 5 minutes of leaving my door open to test it out - i almost cried a few happy tears. Thanks dude. I was about to unleash the hulk on my instrument panel.

I just wanted to take a minute and provide a little update. I did the mod to my '20 taco last night and wanted to provide some notes. First, the cluster removal is now 10mm bolts and on the back of the cluster, the cover is no longer held on with just clips (the clips are also there) but is also held on with qty. 8 T15 little screws. You do lose turn signals and flasher sounds, but your cross traffic and backup sensors still beep. Everything related to seatbelts, door ajar before ignition turned off etc is gone. GONE! GoNE MUWAHAHAHA.

I'm going to drill a hole through this piece of shit and run a chain through it and wear it like it's a religious symbol.

I wish that I could do this. For some reason, I do not want to lose the flasher tone even though the flasher tone is a touch too quiet and the key in chime is way too loud even on the low setting.

I certainly hope, along with maybe getting full control over the A/C switch. I hate it when A/C is forced on when I just want to direct a bit of air at the windshield. We'd be looking for access to the Body Control ECU though.

Next thing I’ll be doing for sure. That chime drives me nuts. Thanks for the info.

I was testing this at the gas station this morning and noticed that with the door open and truck off, or with ignition on Acc and door open, if you push the button on the door jamb and let go the beeping stops and does not come back.

It's not a complete fix, but it is probably good enough for me right now. It was driving me crazy and at least this stops it if I am sitting with doors open and music on. Some day I will move to a more permanent fix.

Yeah man. I’ll be doing the same now that someone had the brilliant idea. I don’t know how I didn’t think of it.

Just a note. That only seems to work on the DCs, for whatever reason. It is a very odd distinction.

That is weird. Wish it also worked for seat belts like it used to.

Seat belts are easy. Either TS and a USB adapter or the Carista app and a bluetooth OBD adapter. Either can customize the dealer only settings and turn off the seat belt chimes.

Yeah. I have TS, but haven't spring for the cable yet. The dealer refused to adjust it and said they have a policy against adjusting ANY safety features. Next vehicle purchase will be elsewhere. Not the only issue I have had with them.
