Super easy to do! Works just like stock with the exception of having fog's and brights on together.

If you want to have your fogs on and NO headlights at all you'll need to search for the other method which uses a wire to jump so that you can simply use your fog switch to turn them on/off independent of the headlight condition. This is more for those who don't want their fogs to turn off when their brights are engaged.

I run high power LED fogs that I only use with my high beams. This mod would be perfect for those running lights you can't run on low beams. I wired mine a "different" way but would have done this like the OP did if I had known.

I think so, can you show me were you got yours from? My relay was located in the small fuse box behind the large main fuse box under the hood.

    A little a this, a little a that...
I just did this mod and super easy and works. Only now my daytime running lights don't work. Anyone have this issue? It's a 2014 off road. Not a big deal, I'd rather have brights that work worth a damn than the DRL but thought that was odd and I'd pass it along. Props to the OP!

Edit 2/24/17: I've been using this mod for a while with no issues. I noticed last week that my DRL are working again. Not sure what happened, but this mod is working for me 100%.

Hey guys, anyone with this mod having increased cracking on the front cover of the headlight "glass"? Methinks some extra heat may be happening during extended night drives with the highs and lows on at the same time. Gotta get new headlights now...

So after a bunch of research and reading through the "Fog Light Any Time Mod", I was about to pull the trigger on that method. Even though it was not going to accomplish what I wanted. In my GTI, you could have it programmed to keep the fogs on with the high beams and the low beams stay on with the high beams. I never understood why Toyota turns the low beams off with the high beams? I understand that they must turn off the fog lights due to some states laws, but they should have kept the low beams on with the high beams for extra light.

Anyways, I found this thread an hour ago right before I was about to do the other mod. I am glad I found this one because it was exactly what I was looking to accomplish and it seemed way easier. I dont ever see a situation where I need the fog lights on and not the headlights. A trip to Lowes for some wire and I was done in less than 30 mins.

Here's my relay with the jumper wire. No solder used, just wrapped tight and pinched the wire tight to each leg.

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked. But does this work for us 3rd gens? I'd love to be able to do it.
