Did you drain the pan before you started pumping new fluid in? If so, make sure you didn't accidentally drain the engine oil pan.

Why did you add another cooler? These transmissions run pretty cool unless you're beating on them hard. Even towing overloaded with mine I have to push it hard to get it to 200°. What temps are you seeing driving around normally? Did you do any other work at the same time as the flush? What wiring mods do you have?

No real wiring yet BUT I did short the positive cable on accident right before I did the flush! No codes and no blown fuses that I have found yet

Did you check the fluid level at all? The temp should be between 97 and 115°F. Was the fluid burnt smelling? Or just the normal stink?

Yeah I checked it at 100 but the truck was off...a lot came out. Then I checked it running and nothing came out. I didn’t wanna keep it running cause it felt so crappy

Check it running, if you turn it off you drain our way too much fluid. It's meant to be checked running. You aren't the first person to make that mistake. Add some fluid and check it again.

I knew to check it running but I couldn’t get it up to temp because the truck was running so poorly.

I checked it at about 70 while it was running at nothing came out hmm

At 100 with it off a bunch came out

    At 100 on nothing.

I added almost a entire extra quart just so I wouldn’t have to do this.

I just worried to leave it running while it warms up. Idles so low it shakes. Even if there is too much I don’t think it should be running like this, or even if it was too low.

I agree that the atf level if it's even remotely close shouldn't cause the engine to run poorly. If nothing was coming out of the check hole with the truck running you are low on fluid though. How low is it idling? 500 rpm? Was it running rough while you were stopping and starting it during the flush? Disconnect your negative battery terminal and let it sit a while. My guess is that you damaged something when you shorting the terminal before. Is the throttle response slow? Have you ever cleaned your maf and or throttle body? How long since you did plugs? They are suppose to be done every 30k. Could just be a fluke, something that was gonna happen anyways. It may not be anything you did. How many miles on the truck?

Truck seemed to be running good during the drain. Had my gf start it while it pumped out 2qt at a time. It’s idling like 300 so extremely low. Plugs were done last month I believe. Always ran excellent before this!

Not too sure what to do. It isles low and seems super laggy in the tranny. When driving it feels like the e brake is on because it doesn’t really “coast” anymore. It does shift fine though.

    The truck has 193k

Check your oil level and make sure it's topped up, then do your best to check the tranny fluid level with it running. If it's idling that low, it won't be exactly right, just do your best. I'd unhook the negative terminal and let it sit a while. Do you have the stuff on hands to clean your throttle body and maf? A nasty throttle body can cause them to idle poorly. The throttle body on my sisters car got so gummed up a while back that it wouldn't idle, when the a/c kicked on it would kill the engine. It's ran perfect since I cleaned the throttle body. Hit up @Torspd and see if he can help you out, he's our community engine guru. The oil control valves will sometimes get clogged up on these at higher mileages, but I think it usually throws a code. Have you ever changed your fuel pump/filter?

I cleaned my Mac a few months ago and checked the tb too. Hmm I’d be really surprised if this isn’t tranny related. Could the torque converter be causing it to idle low? Stalling ?

If it's stuck in lockup it will stall the engine in drive if you aren't moving.

Are those temperatures in the normal range that they used to be prior to this? And since I haven't read the whole thread was the refill process done completely right and the level is full?

What is your ignition advance? What is your throttle position? Do you have an AFR gauge?
