I’ve changed the oil in my truck twice and used the little plastic piece that comes with the new filter to drain the oil in the canister. This valve is seriously just complicating a part of the process that’s a non-issue. The only way a valve like this would be helpful is from the oil pan itself. The oil filter holds barely anything and is dead simple and clean to change. Hell its already facing vertical so it acts just like a cup, unlike my past vehicles which had their filters mounted horizontally at an angle.

How is it complicating? Rather, how is it more complicated that removing and installing a cover, plastic nipple and an O-ring? Because you have to do all those things, which this replaces

OP gets triggered by everything. Apparently creating something that isn't very helpful and getting negative feedback on it is a soft spot for him.

Right? I thought that was an over reaction, but he probably assumed I was being malicious, so he can have that. Sometimes people are way sensitive AND they are automatically super defensive on the internet.

Fumoto valves are great... and I have one. Just not on my oil filter, because it’s a spin on, and I’m not gonna convert to cartridge.

Also, you troll no one. You just got butthurt.

Yeap. I wasn’t trolling. He just has a lot of pride and can’t handle criticism without getting butthurt.

Yeah it’s whatevs. I feel like he may be some sort of mechanic, and thinks he is super rad at it, and he’s like the only guy on earth who changes his oil. I’m a heavy equip mechanic. Some of those engines use cartridges. Seems like an answer to a question no one asked.

I have been changing my own oil since I was 16. You act like it is some super hard task, which I guess is why you get butthurt over people criticizing your "invention"

I wouldn't mind the valve on the oil pan if I had a skid plate to hide it and ensure it won't get hit by something in the road.

Acting like a "mouthbreather" is the only person that is going to criticize you shows you have abolutly no clue who your intended audience is, since 90 percent of the guys that change their own oil I am sure aren't "mouthbreathers"

You truely are triggered by everything apparently.
Here is a ribbon for trying since that is what you're probably used to.

I've used Fumoto Valves for years. Never had a problem with leakage. They work. Not sure why people are freaking out about them. I've put them on every vehicle I've owned.
