LOL all ya want but if you actually plan to really use one of those fucked up jacks offroad the base and stabilizing ropes are genius. I used them occasionally for decades but now the Hilift stays in the garage except for stuff like pulling fence posts. For everything but a one in a thousand event offroad there are better tools available.

Pretty sure this is the thread I used as a reference for my brackets. Modified them to incorporate the traction board mounting location too

    It's a Plano 108-qt. trunk. I believe it's the 1819 model.

I got it many years ago (13?) for about $25 from Home Depot. The hinge is kinda cheap but it still works fine.

Thanks my friend and thanks alot for all the tips for the bed options. I was always on car forums before facebook and I had lost the habit to check car and trucks forums. I'm happy to be back in it.

No problem - and I totally agree. Forums are kind of a dying format but I think they are still the most useful and organized compendium compared to social media platforms.

I'm definitely not as active as I used to be, but always happy when my DIY stuff is still helping others!

I made the CO2 tank bracket loosely based on this thread.

is front bumper the best place to put hi lift 60?

    mine is there. Easy.

    however, some thoughts

    1. Hi lifts are not tight. Unless I rig something up, it has resonant frequency vibration on takeoff. The crank has no FluidAmpr to stop that. Annoying.

I am debating utilizing my bed rack somehow. Maybe I can find a way to keep it chest height so it’s accessible and low. Hopefully that doesn’t hit a tree.

    because high up means
-weight up high, higher center of gravity
-hard to access and use it

I put bungies on the foot which did reduce the resonance a good a mount but not all the way.

not to mention other potential concerns like where the jack would go if somebody hit the truck.

I have a Hi Lift mounted in my Jeep. I keep the foot off and stored separately. Have a quick release pin so it’s quick to install. I have the handle keeper from hi Lift (somebody makes on me that has a little piece that compresses at the bottom of the handle). Mine is screwed down with knobs and usually doesn’t make a sound.

The 60 fits perfect along the bed rails in the bed.
