I installed new arms yesterday. For those who need to cut theirs out do yourself a favor, goto store and buy a Freud Carbide Tipped Sawzall blade. I made all 4 cuts on my cuntrol arm in 5 mins flat. I gave it as couple shots of WD40 along the way. Blade was still sharp as new when I was done. I really dreaded cutting these out and it proved to go really fast about 1hr per side.

I'd go with the SPC cam bolts over moog. Seems like everyone is going back to stock bolts though. I didn't by choice, Toyota did that for me.

Pretty sure SPC and Moog are the same, and even if the design is a bit different, still made from the same shitty steel that causes them to round out. I would only recommend OEM bolts personally.

I ran the SPC and never had an issue with then rounding out. They are designed a bit different and the SPC seem to be built with better metal.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm going to try aftermarket just because the oem seems to be about twice as costly. Sandman, have you used moogs as well as the SPC? I didn't find much feedback on the SPC bolts from Tacoma users.

So I'm having a bit of an issue with my lr ucas, I purchased a set off a user here and one side had the newer bushings they I removed without issue. The other side has the older style with the following order of layers:

Bolt sleeve > rubber > thin sleeve > rubber > thin sleeve > thick sleeve.

    image.jpg
I can't get the thick final sleeve out, I'm scared to keep cutting :-/.

    Any ideas?

Yeah I did some beating on it with a screwdriver and a small sledge.

I think it hates me and doesn't want to go in the trash. I think I'll try cutting another slit on the thick edge and then try to bend it in at my two vertical cuts with a vice.

Bend the edges on one side in. The tension keeps them in tight

I have not used both. I noted the failures of the moog bolts and found a different option. Worked well and didn't notice any rounding like the moogs.

I'll admit I haven't read every post in this thread, but are you all referring to the moogs and spc bolts for when the OEM bolts are no longer useable? The bolts that attach the uca. I'm just double checking for when I make the swap I don't want to be stuck figuring out what to do after the fact.

*update*. The ROCA LCA bushing have failed on me only after 200 miles. They started back popping and have concluded by photo and video that the front smaller bushings are moving back and forth. The inner diameter must be to small which is causing them to shift. I will be tack welding them into place and calling it a day:cheers:

Oh yeah the back ones are working great and were much harder to press in.

Has anyone found inner sleeves for lower control arms that can be used with Energy Suspension bushings yet?
I had to cut my old bushings out.
