There is a very thin pad under the fabric.

You can kinda see it here:

Not sure I've ever had arm on it long enough or often enough to even consider any comfort level. I'm sure you can put whatever padding under whatever material is used. I just wanted fugly gray cloth gone for the most part. The rounded corner-free shape of that area is comfort enough for me. The site of the fugly gray cloth made me more uncomfortable than the amount of padding it had or not.

Finally got the chance to install these! Layed it over the old fabric for some added comfort, turned out pretty cherry!
Instead of a dremel i Used a switch blade to remove those plastic rivets, worked out very well

If I'm not mistaken, the handle is a wrap with Velcro. Some guy was making/selling those here some time ago. You can see the stitching on the ends, not same material as arm rest cover.

My question would be.............Why hasn't that warning sticker been removed and WTF is it warning about?

Getting ready for this mod. Anyone know how many screws are needed for all 4 doors?

Was it hard to get the armrest back on with both layers of fabric? I'm about to do mine and the extra padding would be nice.

Did mine this morning. Took about 2 hours from start to finish. Super easy and love how they match my leather seats now

I've done this 4 times now... can't seem to keep the vinyl bonded to the armrest... any suggestions on material choice or glue?

I went with 3M Hi Strength 90 Spray adhesive. Did the arm rests about 6 months ago and the material is still in place. In fact, on one the armrests, I didnt like how I initially laid the fabric on, so I pealed it back off to start over again and it was a BITCH to get it to come off the plastic insert.

Anyone having trouble with the fabric NOT sticking.. try rubber cement instead.

Also, use a little piece of sandpaper of something and rough up the plastic trim before you apply and glue the leather down. This gives it more traction. Just clean the shavings first.. clean surface for glueing

I bought the perforated vinyl from eBay, what would be the best adhesive and what would be the be the best sandpaper grit to use when sanding down the surface that the new cover goes on?
