Does anyone have any suggestions on finding a replacement elbow panel? Mine is cracked and the whole door panel is $500+. Until finding this thread, I didn't realize they were somewhat removeable. If not, any suggestions on repairing it? It's cracked right down the center. I broke it with my elbow when some jerkoff rearended my truck. Still trying to find a silver tailgate too!

Looks like a good, easy mod. Nice work.

I had most the supplies already from my car audio job I had, all I picked up was some cheap fabric ($5/yard) at JoAnn Fabrics and some screws. They had a section of fabric where it must have been precut but nobody bought it so it was like half off. I used an adhesive remover to get all the junk off when I pealed the old fabric off then sprayed both the new fabric and arm rest with a 3M adhesive spray. Been holding up great even with this 90+ weather we have been having lately.

Has anyone done a perforated leather to maybe give a closer match to the black upper portion of the panel? If so, pics?

Also, can someone post a pic of the door w/ the panel removed?

Speaking from experience, worked for an aftermarket leather supplier, no one use leather for the door panel section. First, it is very hard to get adhesive to bond to the door panels. Second, leather tends to shrink over time so the edge might start showing. If you are looking for vinyl, try search a company called Keyston Bros. Anyone looking for a leather interior?

Seems like it's been working out for most people thus far?

I got the vinyl. It was on a rack in the section with the leather and vinyls, with a bunch of other wrapped up fabrics that were 50% off bc they were already cut.

If you do this mod I highly recommend removing all the old adhesive on the arm rest it makes it a lot easier for the new fabric to stick.

Most, if not all aftermarket leather kits, use vinyl in the door trim section. A former coworker used leather in the door trim section on his Mazda 5 as a show car for the SEMA show in LV. Within a year, the leather began to peel off so he just ripped it out. It is not impossible, just not advisable. I got leather interiors for two guys on this forum and I talked them out of using leather in the door trim section for the same reasons I mentioned earlier.
