So here's another lighting project I did using some left over LED strips from my kitchen renovations. First, I bought some pushbuttons on ebay.

    IMG_20150513_221250.jpg

I popped the red cap off, and filed down the shaft. The switch on top of the picture is the original length, and the one below it is filed shorter.

    IMG_20150513_221338.jpg

I removed the glovebox, and then removed the glove box top liner. To remove the top liner, you need to remove the bolt next to where the latch catches, and then the liner just pulls down. It is held by two clips, one on each side near the rubber bumpers.

I removed the left rubber bumper.

    IMG_20150513_221134.jpg

I had to make the hole slightly bigger to insert the switch.

    IMG_20150513_224233.jpg

I stuck the LED strip to the liner.

    IMG_20150513_222249.jpg

    I wired up the switch.
    IMG_20150513_224159.jpg
I put everything back and connected the switch to constant positive power, and this is what it looks like.

There are a lot of things that should have been factory installed, but aren't.

I have searched for this many times, and gave up when I saw no good results.

Now this is a good writeup! Now I have another "to do item" on my list.

Man, the more I look at this the more confused I get. I know the wiring is simple if you're familiar with wiring, but I'm no electrician. I managed to install the under hood lighting mod with no problem, but this one is difficult for me for some reason. I've looked all over TW, Google and YouTube trying to get this all straight in my head to no avail. I think I've actually studied it TOO much.

I've got the exact same momentary switch and LED strip as OP, and I've got the glove box and liner removed, with switch installed to liner. I need help with finding a constant power source and I also need a simple wiring diagram for this mod. Thanks in advance!

Thanks DCSBTACO! Below is my 2nd grade art skillz attempt at drawing it up. I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure this is correct.
