First off, thanks Barbburner, for the side plates. Got everything installed over the weekend and great fitment and install was a breeze. When I ordered the extruded bards from tnutz.com I also ordered (2) 1/4 radius bars. Also did some searching on 80/20.net and found some tread step for the grooves in the T-slot. I got everything installed (without the round bards and tread step stuff) and there was a little wind noise that was not there before. I was driving around 70mph when I heard it and it was consistent. The radio and HVAC was off. Just turning on the HVAC and I could not hear the wind noise. Returned home and installed the (2) 1/4 radius bars and the tread step seal. Due to the great placement of the holes and slots on the side plates the radius bars fit tight up against the regulary extruded cross bars with no gap. Test drove again and no noise no matter what I tried. The other benefit to the tread step seal is that you can lay stuff on the bars without really messing up the paint/anodized coat and gives it a non skid finish. The tread stuff was pretty cheap and have plenty left over if I need to make other lengths and such. Overall, install was a breeze, and really like the way it turned out. On to the pictures.

Thanks, damn good product from you and Beachboy. Sorry, Beachboy, missed you the first time.... So now the question becomes (dramatic pause....) when will those fancy new mounts be done with and ready for the masses??? Get the freakin lead out and quit screwing around already!!!! ****laughs****

Have you seen the 3D prints in the dedicated thread?

We're close. The main test now is if we have clearance to tighten the bolts and if we need a sequence/instructions to install or tighten. The more motion and tightest package makes it a little more complex to reach the bolts.

I bought my own 3D printer so I can do prototype much faster.

Bad Ass. After I left my post above I saw the dedicated thread. Looking forward to seeing them in action and on my truck. Do you see a need for more than 4 mounts on a short bed? If so how would you get around the rise in the center on most toppers?

I think 4 is enough for short bed

Our mounts will allow height adjustment (using shims), small adjustments likely included with the kit, and longer ones available

What fractal length did you select for the 1/4 bars?

Same length as the other cross bars.

Not length, I meant fractional length.

Printed a 1:1 version of the end (blank area for logo) in order to trial fit the adjustable wind fairing (adjustable 30 degrees and from top of sidebar down to below your lightbar).

This rack is much more versatile than our previous one and much more versatile than anything you've seen on the market.

I will post some more design comments in the dedicated thread.

That is if you want a length that is not full inches. Like 47” + .5”. The 1”x1” quarter radius bars are the ones I got.
