I don't know yet. This likely will not be a continuing production part, just an opportunity to use up the material we have on hand, so as long as we're covering the material cost and laser cost, I'll add a few bucks for my trouble and call it good. Shipping is the larger outstanding question though.

I just got the price from the laser, and it's more than what I think I can reasonably sell them for for a profit. The issue is that the nesting on the material we have on hand makes it so that there are only 2 tailgate panels per sheet, and leaves the rest as scrap. So, unless you're interested in a $150ish plus shipping tailgate panel, then it looks like we're probably a no go.

However, I may have another idea that I'd like your feedback on. I can efficiently nest a 12"x14" cutting board in the same material. We could cut "TACOMA" or "TOYOTA" in one end along the side. Thoughts?

After doing a bit of research on all the prices around the net, from mountainhatch to ebay knockoffs. Your asking price seems to be right in the middle and very reasonable Dan. I personally might take a shot at my own diy though. Thank you for taking the time to do the leg work :)

Regarding the cutting board, would it be a stand alone or something that is attachable? Any visuals?

@RUSSELLTACO made his own out of HPDE and his warped in the heat. Im planning on making mine out of 1/8" aluminum. Its not that difficult. Take the stock one off, trace the holes and cutouts, and then trim to fit.

This is where Ill be ordering from:

2nd gens dimensions that Im going to order: 18x58 (3rd gen is 1" taller), 6061 Aluminum Sheet, 0.125 thickness - comes to $67 + shipping

It's still in the "just an idea in my head design process". But my current thinking is a simple stand alone Toyota and or Tacoma labeled (themed?) cutting board. Use it at home in the kitchen, on your tailgate while camping, etc.

If you're looking for Aluminum, we can cut that all day long. Should I get a price on that?

Here is the one I fabricated. It is made from a 20ga. storage locker door I bought at the salvage yard for $20. And it is already power coated. I've used with and without the stock tailgate cover.

I bet the Aluminum is nice! I'd get one metal but I spend time in the desert and I'm worried it may get a little heated up in the sun! I like toasted buns but not my buns toasted!
