    Hello Taco Owners

I made a DIY video of a front camera installation on my Tacoma that has a TRD Pro Grille.

Here are the items I used.

Car Solutions Camera Control Switch System for Toyota Touch 2 - https://amzn.to/2LqAKnB

    NATIKA Backup/Front View Camera - https://amzn.to/2LqBM2X

In addition, I’m trying to get to 1000 subscribers so please subscribe. I’ll be doing other install videos and car washing product reviews.

Here are some other camera options.

I'm confused about the controls. It speaks of using the mode, and up/down buttons on the steering wheel. These buttons are already being used for control of the audio source, track, etc.
How are these handled after the front camera installation?

You press the mode button twice and it overrides the controls until you press the mode button again or after 30 seconds of no input. Here are the instructions.

I really like how you don’t have to put an external button to switch between the cameras! Very clean install. I’ve wanted to pick one of these up for a while, this might be it for me!

Can the lines on the front camera be removed? Some cameras allow you to cut a wire to remove the backup parking lines.

I've been planning on getting the Car Control system also. I think that's the front camera I have saved on my list. Great price point for both & another member on here has had good things to say about this system. These trucks already have enough switches all over the place so I'm sold on not having to add more!

Tag for later. This looks like a better solution than what anytimebackupcamera.com offers.

Do you know if the same setup will work with a MT? (given that the front camera is tied into D to turn on automatically) I wonder if 1st gear does the same?

I just bought one and should have it installed this weekend on my 6MT. I'll post back here with my results.

Just did a rough install with the unit on my truck and can confirm it works, at least on a 2018 6 speed manual, TRD-Offroad, non-JBL unit.

Word of warning though, I could not get the Nakita camera up in Canada from Amazon (Nakita does not ship to Canada) and bought a D-elfin brand facsimile from Amazon.ca

    https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07HG76C96/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The electrical wiring (black and red) does not have the same length as the AV cable which mean's I'm going to have to splice something from the camera to the cab. I believe the Nakita camera has the proper length wire.

Once I have the unit properly installed, I'll post back some pictures.

    I have two questions??

    1) If you have TSS is there another spot to mount higher up in the center of grill that will work?

    2) Is there anyone in the Southern California area interested doing this mod together I am not super tech savvy and will trade for beer

You might be better off moving it more to the drivers side. Maybe someone can chime in that has TSS and has mounted it in front of the sensor to advise if it makes an impact.
