    What are some examples as to why these input would be used. Should I have an AV input cable (or output) installed just incase I ever want to connect something to it?

    AV out - sending your navigation screen to your backup camera screen in the rear view mirror(if you have a 09) while you have a DVD playing on the main 7" screen, navi on the main screen and DVD playing on some head rest or visor screens.
