do i need to clearcoat??

    i was going to paint my stock rims black since i just did my emblems yesterday along with my fenders. I used the hammered black on the fenders and i really like the look and texture, i was def going to do the whole prep and two coats of primer and atleast 4 coats of the hammered black but would i need to put a clear coat on top of this since they are the rims? or would i be fine without it?

    Nope...I've had my rims painted for a year without clear coat and they have been fine. Makes it easier to touch up too.

    anyone use hammered paint on there rims

    Lots of folks have use that hammered finish on a variety of parts. Proper prep/prime/cleaning will make almost any paint work.

    i have had hammered black paint on my rims and bumpers for over a year now and it held up great, only had to touch up a few spots here and there this summer (mostly from getting hit by road salt)
