During Toyotas “Atkinson cycle” the intake valve is left a bit open during compression stroke only at light loads.

FWIW my tune pretty much disables the Atkinson cycle bullshit. From what I’ve read it’s only active at super light load.

I really do believe this “Atkinson cycle” thing was a fail in the 3.5. It gains no MPGs, just loses a bit of torque at light loads.

two mods for better miles per gallon: skinny tires, and a light colored truck in warm climates.

I notice they make a plasti dip primer. Should I use this? I’m doing my mirrors and badges as well. By the way, thanks for all the info!

I never used the primer but if they offer it I definitely would.

That is all that matters. I have a few mods that get ragged on and when I tell the haters to go f*** themselves in so many words then THEY get offended (I can't take a joke blah blah blah) like I care. It's all good.
